Because it uses the hard drive a lot. Do the database clean up as suggested If you have an old PS3 consider replacing the hard drive. (SSD make a world of difference)

getting it every game, its killing me (pun intended) DS controller, I just bought a new one so will try that to see if it is hard ware specific, but with so many people seeing the issue, it has to be something code side as well

It will be there just as you left it. I have deleted and reinstalled the game as well as all the saved content several times. Its all stored on CCP's servers and get downloaded again to you when you log in for the first time after a new install.
