1. Has anyone thoroughly tested out sprinting with sidearms? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I was just having a discussion about whether there is actually a speed benefit or if the weapon sway animations are merely sped up. Has anyone actually raced some otherwise identical scouts to find out?

Definitely the weapon. That passive damage bonus from the proficiency skill will help you in every situation you have an AR our, while the B Series is only useful when you're fronting the ISK to actually wear it. I am heavily biased towards passi...

3. If I am a.... - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Go for it. Though you're going to need plenty of other skills to compliment the knives. Focus on speed, stealth, sensors, and maybe drop uplinks. (Maybe hacking, too.) Also, I'd recommend adding lasers or snipers to the mix, just so you can have s...

5. Basic HMG vs MH-82 - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
A lot of the advanced weapons don't really seem that impressive until you combine them with passive skills and damage mods. Since the damage boost is a percentage increase, that .8 can be amplified by quite a bit.

7. MMO Law: Kill the DPS first? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]

8. As a rushing frontliner, what skills do you recommend? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
If you are sneaking behind enemy lines, I cannot stress enough how important drop uplinks are. They eat up a lot of dropsuit resources, but well placed uplinks win battles. (Provided the blueberries actually use it.) I have a completely disposabl...

9. How do you join a battle with a friend? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Just start a squad and invite them. You don't have to be in the same anything. I recommend creating a chat channel for your friends. That way you can easily tell who is online even if you aren't in the same corp. (Corps have their own, dedicated,...

Actually, Nova Knives are (unless it just changed with the new sounds) super duper loud. You can catch people unaware with them, but once you kill that first guy everybody will know there is a knifer about.

13. [HELP] Laser rifle: how does it really work? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]

Nobody is going to even be trying to max out all their core skills for a long time; especially the weapon proficiencies. Eventually you hit a point where it costs multi-millions in SP to add 3% damage or 2% reload speed, and frankly you'd have to ...

Scouts make decent MD wielders, as they can scuttle their way to the high ground easier. It's a very situational weapon, and sluggish heavies won't be able to position themselves fast enough to take advantage.
