Bolt pistol is basically a mini railgun turret. Has a spool-up time, but its automatic after that. I think the design is fine as it is. I like the thought of having an automatic pistol.

It may help to get a militia LAV, and drive around in a logi suit, and place various uplinks of different types about 120 meters from various objectives. Would help your team a lot, and possibly change the tide of battles.
