I've never been in a game where I'm up against an AR player and thought "I have no chance of ever beating him". If they run full proto and kill me 1 on 1 I understand, and usually don't lose by a lot. They have better gear than me that they worked...

I don't think there's a good conversion. You can buy sp boosters and blueprints with aur which you can't get with isk. Sp boosters save time, and time is money so it makes sense. Blueprints are a one time purchase so there's some sense in that. ...
