I have 210 shields and 169 armor and was one hit killed by someone using the either the GLU-5 or Duvolle TAR. Not sure if this is because of some bug or if they just had an insane amount of damage mods, just wanted to point this out.

I don't know for sure about the missiles but the remote explosives always explode, you just dont always SEE the explosion unless you (or an enemy) is close enough to be damaged by it. But I am pretty sure this goes for missiles as well.
