Amen. AR is definitely the preferred playstyle anyways because it encourages hunkering down, and it's easy to steal kills with and just all around has a great reach. Unlike basically any other kind of weapon, the AR is going to not only be useful...

You can't really blame it on map design though, since DUST isn't a preschoolers FPS, and will have damn near infinite maps as time goes on. It's annoying, but terrain is used against your enemy in warfare.
