Reuse HAV Hulls (But smaller) Replace main gun with small gun 4-6 person transport capacity, maybe add 2 small side guns (total of 4 small guns) Done. All you need is mounting points for 2 small guns, should be easy with no more big gun.

Because armor piercing rounds have neglegible splash. A better comparison would be to the breach flaylocks splash damage. You know. Compare shaped charges to shaped charges.
