Why is this? Why does an explosive projectile the size of a golf ball do more damage and have a larger radius than a missile the size of a human, with its warhead probably the size of a human head?

The missile turret excels at destroying armor. The flaylock pistol excels at destroying infantry.

Well for starters the Flaylock has a 4 round magazine with a max range of about 20m while the Missiles have 12 round capacity, faster projectile speed and range. Not to mention that the Flaylock was designed for Anti-Personnel use, while the Missile Launcher was designed for Anti-Vehicle.

Here's one: Why does a PLC glob which is obviously the size of a Heavy torso need almost pinpoint accuracy to register as a hit? Why don't near-misses by the actual round (in the center of the glob) still register as splash damage from the rest of that ball moving through a target?

And if you can aim, you're generally getting direct hits with a large missile turret. Getting splash to affect infantry is hard from such an angle, you're better going for direct hits. Which do a lot more damage and are capable of obliterating heavy vehicles.
Maybe that's why?
