Dmg profiles for weapons are the same as before. Only changes regarding damage profile are in the proficiency skill of weapons. They now do the 3%+ dmg per level to their natural affinity.

Assaults don't get "drastically" reduced speeds. It's more like marginally reduced speed. If you go by percentage reduced, scout loses more speed when tanking than a medium does. Assaults also have 7 slots, one more than scout.
