I don't think less damage or decreased clip size is the problem, If they actually looked properly at the hit detection, since that's the game breaking part.

The cloaked picture is clearly a cloaked station, more then likely jovian tech (just look at there ships, same color and style). The other picture of the ships is a mothership aka Supercarrier. I can remember a ship that looked just like this mode...

you can snipe in most maps, but the problem with the rifles is that over half the shots don't register. They are not balanced, there bugged and ccp has not looked at them properly in a while. So why use them...

Because 514 is a reference to the holy grail or what it stands for. Immortality. In our case Clones. And like you said Dust to Dust, when we die we turn to dust, but again also a reference to the myth around the holy grail.
