I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be based on AR damage... I'm gonna make up numbers here but this is how I BELIEVE it works. Let's say the SCR does base damage of 100. Because the SCR does 120% to shields and 80% to armor it would then do 120 damage ...

Yep. It's actually pretty tough to take out a heavy who is sniping. I've tried headshotting a bunch with my miltia sniper fit loaded up with complex damage mods and it still takes 2 or three hits. But usually having half their health being knocked...

Snipers aren't actually that hard to avoid. Stick to cover. Use erratic movements. And if you get sniped, try and countersnipe or call out the sniper's position to your team mates. If the sniper's in the redline, well then chances are you redlined...
