err you do know the HMG is quad rotating barrel while the chaingun has no moving parts just fires Right to left repeatedly.. and since it is a laser weapon maybe have it more accurate then HMG and with a little more effective range so its like.. ...

Repeating Laser Cannon could look a little like the Chain Gun from duke nukem pic 1 pic 2 Pic 3 pic 4 i would think maybe 1/3 less ROF but 1/3 more DMG per shot then the HMG and use the laser damage profile of something like +15% shield...
