Love em or hate em the murdertaxi is here to stay.
You know the one. The one with the cheeto munching donut chaser in the front seat. The one that hops out and hoses you down.
There used to be a defense against this.
Av grenades, forge guns and swarms used to instapop untanked militia and STD LAVs. But the usual whingeing occurred and we now have LAVs that can take a direct shot from a proto railtank or forge and keep trucking.
The things are minimal risk and too resilient. If a heavy or group of idjits wants to have a vehicle that can soak AV that they can LOL around in, it should require more SP and ISK.
People want heavy taxi to end?
Make it so AV nades and AV weapons will smash them to scrap easily. |

Either make them instapop vehicles OR make it so AV grenades and other weapons cause some damage to the driver/passengers of any vehicle while they're inside, as well as to the vehicle itself. |

I would at least think someone should have to put some decent SP in vehicles to get an LAV that can survive such AV
The problem is they aren't taking any real risk all things considered.
This is how a minja feels

All they have to do is reset LAVs to Chromo HP levels, where they belong/

Make it so AV nades and AV weapons will smash them to scrap easily. murder taxis arnt a problem.. just gotta pull out swarms and wait for the heavy to stop and get out to kill some one one and lay into it with AV nades+swarms and keep doing so till he runs out of LAVs
prefferably outside of his effective range so you dont become murdertaxi food too :P

One MLT swarm will threaten even the most tanked Methana. If they jump out and don't drive away when the first volley hits, the LAV is as good as dead. |

This. LAVs are cheap, fast and expendable. Why are they not being treated as such? |

...Okay, I'll share this one with you, (but please don't spread this around to TOO many others--it'll spoil the experience). Yes, currently your AV against the Lavs is limited, but NOT to the point where it defeats this ONE technique. It has been used by a few others since Uprising 1.5. It is a downright SHOCK to the driver and gunner when you do it (I've seen one or both literally hop out of the moving vehicle during their first attempt to run you down--it surprises them like scalded cats). And it USUALLY ends in you safely walking away from a burning-and-finally-exploding LAV (like in the corny slow-mo Hollywood movie):
Armed with at least a standard AV grenade, face the vehicle as it speeds up to you.
[The one action you can perform when your character is "jumping" is the grenade-throw (many don't know that).] When the Lav is ten steps away from you, leap sideways in the air and toss the grenade loosely out in front of you. You r grenade won't possibly miss the LAV, because the damn driver is driving into with the speed of a ball into a catcher's mitt. IThe game registers it as full-credit EHP damage is right in the seats (not under the vehicle, which some LAVs have been able to race over with reduced HP damage).
The effect of being hit by a Dust vehicle while you're OFF THE GROUND, is to shove you away to the side--not to score as a roadkill (...don't know why, but OKAY_THANK YOU!!) Being shoved to the side by the passing damaged-LAV lines you up perfectly to face the charging bull again if he turns around and wants Grenade-2, or to hose any survivor tossed out if the LAV if it lost control and crashed (Grenade-1 in the seats was usually enough to kill at least one passenger while the vehicle's still in motion).
I've been doing it repeatedly, with both standard and advanced grenade types: my score is about, murder-taxis roadkill helpless female hitchiker = 3... Celesta destroys Lav+ occupants with one grenade-leap = 3... Celesta destroys Lav + occupants with two grande-leaps = 4... ... Celesta shoots red merc lying incapacitated on ground after being thrown from a burning LAV that fled and left him behind = only 1.
I feel like Trinity in the Matrix. (err, Roy Scheider with the rifle in Jaws, if you're a fella) Practice it a little---it's easy and SOOO like healthy revenge. "C'mon, open wide you son of a b--boom--HAY-HAAAY!!!!!)
Hope this comes in handy for you! Being run over feels like you got robbed.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

I never really have problems with 'murder taxi's' as the people I run with always set up anywhere between 1/3 remote + proximity mine traps - even in fw. It's seldom that we don't get at least one kill with it, and if we're defending a point we'll stagger them out along the main roadways towards said point.
We've baited tanks across it, hell we've even been known to set down remote traps on popular rooftops to deal with dropships that park up there to set down uplinks.
There are plenty of tools available to prevent annoying vehicles from being problematic, experiment with them. |

Agreed. I find murder taxis like a game of toro. It's kinda fun. The insta-teleport-into-your-face-with-HMG guys usually get me one time. Then I bring out proxies. Usually that one crispy kill is enough to deter them from trying it again during the match. If not, I especially love catching the same guy twice who things I'll put them down in the same location. Jokes on you.
Also its great when a LAV sees you across the way and starts revving for you at full speed not realizing you're in the open putting down remotes for him. Extra crispy.
