While I don't really use vehicles, I've often heard about how RDVs and their clumsy AI can and will destroy people's hard-earned vehicles by running into terrain, crashing, and a whole slew of other problems. So I thought of a simpler solution: a new installation, Vehicle Depots.
When [or if] being able to deploy your own installations makes it into the game, this will be among them.
It's essentially a garage that constructs/teleports your vehicle to the depot. A depot should be available at every team's spawn point behind the red line, so at least one depot is available to both teams, as well as a hackable depot at every objective. Give it massive EHP to counter the players who typically destroy installations, as well.
The installation will have to be large, however, to house every kind of vehicle callable: tanks, dropships, LAV's, and whatever other vehicles you have in the making. Make sure it has an open roof for DS pilots, however, and maybe a runway for jets [if those make it into the game, too]. |

How about the ability to deploy off map in the vehicle of your choice? you know instead of using a drop point just select a vehicle and enter from your red zone. Especially for dropships, why the hell not? you were in space with your ship but you decided to beam down first?!? moronic |

While those haikus were enjoyable to read, we are getting a little off topic. To the OP, great idea. It could go along with a certain idea I posted. |

Other than DS's getting rammed/spawned into a RDV, there's no problems with them. however, I do think that land vehicles should have some kind of depot to drive into, and change out bought modules, as well as a airpad/landing strip place for air vehicle, all of which would be at the base. |

Haikus for speaking It has become the new trend It gets attention
But in all seriousness, I've seen/heard instances of other vehicles being destroyed by the clumsy RDV while delivering them, mainly when they're called in an area with objects around them. Not even cluttered, it could be as much as a hill, and the RDV will end up going berserk and crash.
It would also combat the issue of Forge Gunners shooting vehicles out of the sky before they're even delivered..
And on-planet jump gates would be awesome.
Haikus are awesome But some things are better said Than put in a poem |
