So far, nothing has really changed in DUST. Just superficial things like items, graphics, and lighting... i dont care about those because i play a game for the experience. And right now there isnt much to enjoy in DUST.
Want to know why i started DUST in the first place? No? Well im gonna tell you anyways. Did the trial in EVE, and was blown up while flying the beginner frigate by some random jackoff who probably spent his whole life in EVE just to type "lol noob". At the time i thought nothing of it, you get infinite amounts of them and i wasnt carrying anything. But after more play time, i remembered that event and it wasnt because i lost a ship... it was the principle. Like, really you are going to blow me up after 45 minutes of just starting out and tell me im a noob as if there was some way i couldve beat you.
So instead of wasting two or three years paying a stupid subscription only to log in once every few weeks to que up skills. Id rather play a F2P that lets me control a huge ass cannon that can destroy any ship within its range... This is even fair play if you think about it. Dont want to die, pay the toll or gtf back where you came from.... and even if you pay i will probably kill you anyways cause im edgy like that.
This is also why majority of the EVE players dont like us. They are scared of the fact that one day we may actually be able to do something like this and dont like the thought of being blown up by someone using a remote controller.
Established EVE players have it easy. They dont really have to worry about anything, and most likely have enough isk to buy whatever ship they lost fully furnished 100 times over.... i want to take that luxury away.
Everything past the solid line is wrong besides for the fact that you want to take luxury away. I actually just finished reading this article about how ungodly expensive Supercaps - a certain type of ships - are. They are expensive to the point that no alliance has the money to replace a fleet of them. I also don't think EVE players don't like us because we might destroy them one day. They don't even care about us. For $15 a month, I wouldn't care what some people were doing on the planet below me. I have other... EVE stuff to do.
That all being said, reading a bit into some of the major events in EVE make me wish that DUST could have some role. One of the largest battles in EVE happened by accident, and the history of the game grows from it. DUST just doesn't have the capacity.
One day we might be able to strike the sky. That'll be fun... |
