I find it surprising that you presume to know much about Eve, or about how its players feel. Like you, they'll care about Dust once it starts affecting them.
CCP's strategy for Dust, from the beginning, was to make Dust viable as a stand alone game before linking it strongly to Eve. Fixing aiming, fixing performance, putting in basic Dust features is ongoing and necessary. This is their development solution to the chicken and egg problem. Their marketing department has a different strategy.
Also, I don't see what's so special about eve regarding your lost newbie ship scenario. Lots of games have places you can go and die if you're determined to go there and die. Like Eve, they also have big warning signs. |

AND this is why that trailer, the one that shows dusters firing from the planet to eve ships WON'T HAPPEN. And boarding eve ships to destroy them? can you imagine how the forums over on eve side would QQ. lol
Of course those things will happen, but only when Eve pilots are bombarding planets, placing them at risk, or when Dust mercs are directed to board something. Also, boarding ships probably won't happen, boarding stations and such, probably will happen. |
