Michael Arck wrote:The most interesting thing is that people are willing to run out and purchase first generation hardware. Which truly is a no no. Also, these next gen consoles won't have that much of a library because the majority of folks will still be on last gen consoles. So the support won't be as strong cause devs/pubs will still be making games for last gen (current gen)
Just like when folks ran out to buy 360s and created gamertags like "XBOX360!!!" but they were still playing Halo 2 online. LOL! Hilarious!
Yet the ps4 is easier to develop for then the ps3 ever was. So while veteran developers have mastered the ps3 hardware to deliver really great games they will have far easier time developing for the ps4. More over given its architecture PS4 will also be the primary console for developers to port from or PC to ps4 will require minimal work given the thing is in effect a inexpensive gaming PC. |

Yup. Friends and I still bring out the N64 from time to time for some good ol' Smash Bros. Samus my main, Captain Falcon, Kirby, and Ness for the others. Goooooooood times.

Too bad it has 20+ retail games on launch with a slew of them to come within the following 2 months which will begin the 2014 cycle. Oh and it will have plenty of fun and good F2P games.
And, obviously, new games never suffer from last-minute delays or problems resulting from being released prematurely (in order to meet the new console's launch date, for example), are never disappointing, never have bugs or glitches, and always live up to their pre-release hype (or are never over-hyped to sell the console), are never ported over from the older system with only minor upgrades....
Why do you think that video game forums are always filled with so much praise, and so few complaints?
And we all know, from experience, that new consoles are always flawless and work perfectly upon release, never crash, never overheat, and always exceed the expectations instilled in the consumers by their pre-release hype and sales-pitches.

I am 100% positive none of the new games will have no balance issues, connection problems, software problems, tweaks or any type of patch what-so-ever for there entire self life. 100% completely sure they won't have problems. |

We had a match where everybody was Pikachu and all you heard was "PIKA!" for the entire thing. It was lulzworthy.

Yeah, i learned to don't get hyped about next gen consoles after the Dreamcast release...yeah... that early. That is why i always wait for the "next gen" to become the "current gen" ... about 2 or 3 years... give or take. Rubbish consoles normally die before they hit the 2 years mark. |

you are correct, new games almost always have bugs, however, most of those previously listed do not take over a year to fix bugs and their patches actually work unlike the ones we endure here on moldy pizza crust 514

Fox and Pikachu were so damn fast. The real nightmare though was how slow Link was to recover from his Up+B (and just how terrible it was in general). Being knocked even barely off the edge was pretty much a death sentence. Still crazy fun though. |

That is the problem i see... PS3 HD is actually not that bad, and honestly i personally can't see a huge difference from 720p to 1080p... in many ways the PS4 is not Groundbreaking as far as technology goes... just a cheap gaming computer. To me next gen consoles haven't arrive yet... I think 3D or Virtual Reality IS the next gen consoles... maybe 5 years from now. |

It's cute that you're nieve enough to actually believe that.
It's funny how, while complaining that a current game doesn't meet their expectations, people will automatically just assume with absolute certainty that the next one will.

PS3 does 3d now and you will only tell the difference between 720 and 1080 if you are sitting too close to the TV or you screen is above about 42 inches. The PS3 is a more advanced architecture than the PS4 but the instruction set is difficult and learning how to unleash its full power is very difficult. Also, memory bandwidth and amount is limiting. You are correct that the "next gen" isn't a step up in tech but really a boost in hardware speed and amount. Computers are due for a technical overhaul because they have been using the same design that engineers came up with in the 60s. |
