Sounds good on paper but slow rate of fire is not CQC friendly . High damage is nice but at close range its all bout putting more bullets into your opponent than he can do to you. Now if I'll be frank because im not sure how to deal with this gun but......its garbage to me. I say get rid of the gun altogether because the Tac is a high damage slow Rof but it covers the long range while being weak up close. The standard AR has full auto for the short range while the burst is great mid. The breach is akin to the tac but no scope and a full-auto mode. I think the gun is obsolete and the other variants cover the short-mid-long range categories easy and the breach has no place in it

I actually love the premise of this gun as its supposed to be an alternate to the standard assault. You trade full-auto for a lethal faster firing burst for the mid range game. Since uprising i was disappointed with it being reduced to a 3-round burst as the 6 burst gun at least gave some flexibility up close However something was off, at close range its difficult to get a good burst on a close range moving target, but i'll take it as a weakness as the standard version is better at short range. I can get kills with it but i finally realized what was holding it back. EFFECTIVE RANGE IS TOO SHORT. I was shooting a target no more than 30 to 50 meters away using the new and improved range efficiency system and i realized at that range it was only 30%. This gun rewards a precision shooter with a lethal burst but its range is equivalent to the breach. I think the effective range should be more or less equal to the standard version or just short of the Tac range. At mid to long range the gun doesn't do much. Many users opt away from the burst because it requires good aiming to kill and up close hitting a moving target with 3 rounds just leads to frustration but at where it should shine you lose the lethality of the burst and then your either better off with a tac for mid to long while the standard is for a general purpose role.
So CCP remove and refund any breach rifles and boost effective range of the burst rifles......and make it a 5 round burst that 3 round burst is horrible. At least increase range though that is the biggest issue
Pretty much. There probably shouldn't be a Breach variant, since the Assault Rifle now is actually the Blaster Rifle (BR), the SHORT RANGE primary dps monster rifle of the Gallente. The breach variant would basically be the short range, cqc variant of the short range, cqc focused AR. Kinda redundant.
I also agree with the burst having more range in line with the TAC, however, all of the AR's NEED a good looking at when the rest of the racial AR's come out. They need to be balanced and fit into their roles (the BR now is probably a bit too good at mid-range, it shouldn't win most fights it gets into with a Scrambler Rifle (SR) at mid-range). The BR should be able to work out to the beginning/middle of mid-range (however that's defined), but that shouldn't be included into it's niche of killing primarily.
Also side note, what do you think the variants of the Combat Rifle and Scrambler Rifle should be? We have the Assault Scrambler, which is a kinda knock-off of the BR. What do you think the tactical and burst versions would be like? What about the yet to be released Combat Rifle (no burst variant of course)? |
