Why is there no fall off damage at the end of the blast radius? On grenades there is fall off damage. What sense does it make to just end the damage? |

Actually there are a few minor problems with easy fixes. I killed a few people with a mass driver at 1 m distance and didn't die, which was awesome, but not very realistic. Even a flaylock (pre-nerf) would hurt a lot at that range. Maybe this should apply to mass drivers as well. Their role should be at the back of squads, protected by the assaults and heavys, in my opinion.
Secondly, I was hunting down enemy uplinks, and after destroying the second of five, I was remote explosive' d to death. While it gave me a chuckle, I thought maybe the explosive should've taken out the uplinks. 1000 damage to me should easily melt a few uplinks.
Just a few ideas to think about, CCP. |

i think thats because direct hits arnt dealing splash atm. Im not positive on this though |

that's because they're far harder to hit with at long ranges. |

IMO if there is to be fall damage it should start where the damage ends at the present time. |

Have you ever tried facing someone with Complex Shield Mods using only an Assault MD at less then 10 meters? Good luck not being killed by your own splash. |

This would be fine so long as the splash damage was bumped up to start at the direct damage amount (that may need buffed as well) and the splash radius was also buffed.

Trust me, direct hits do splash damage. If your using one of the high DD low Splash damage MDs you can CQC like no ones business. The other side of this is the assault MDs large splash radius and rapid ROF which is what you see a lot of people abusing.
The real problem with explosive weapons (and just about all other weapons) is damage mods, it shows up most in weapons with a blast radius. Adding between 30 and 40% to the splash damage is just STUPID. |

Splash damage is still "flat" as well, rather than spherical which causes various issues with occlusion, bunny hopping etc. such as a MD using scout jumping over damage as he fires at his own feet ![P](https://forums.dust514.com/Images/Emoticons/ccp_p.png)

I sincerely hope CCP revises the explosion physics by adding dynamic aspects like consideration of explosion velocity vs target velocity as well as falloff around the edges of explosions. |

The falloff would be fine, so long as it was accompanied with an equivalent buff to the damage and probably radius of splash damage.
The velocity thing though doesn't seem important IMHO. The velocity of explosions is so vastly larger than any movement speed, that it seems like a pointless calculation.
As a real world example, the explosion velocity of C4 is over 8000 m/s.

i guess i'm not sure how you would explain this in 'real' terms. the grenade is going to explode, easy as that. the mass driver has very little ammo, and is not nearly as deadly as an ar. |
