Which is just a cheap lie in most cases. How many of you have actually seen an OB from EVE?

Not only have I seen them from Eve, but I've also fired them from Eve (when I was in a larger corp that is) |

Can't imagine its many.
They are pretty cool though, especially the pulse laser strike! The RoF on that strike is sweeeeeet.
The hybrid tactical is just a precision strike with a little more area and a little more damage... kinda whatever :/ |

Okay. I want someone to explain how I can pull this off. FW battles happen on a variety of planets, how do EVE pilots know where to be when the match starts? And do you still need 2500 points? |

When corp battles were for FW, they were more common because the corps would get the Eve side plenty of notice. Once FW became instant join like pub matches, Eve players can't get there in time. The Eve universe is huge - the pilots available to do a strike might be 10-15 (or more) start systems away. When you figure it takes on average 1-1.5 minutes to go from one system to the next.... well you do the math. |

I've seen a couple. At the moment there is very little incentive for eve to dust interaction. Why waste time bombarding a planet, when you could be making isk. |

This - it's hard to coordinate unless you are involved in PC (which most people aren't due to corp size) |

You have to tell the Eve player where you are; they then have to travel to the star system (which may be far away from where they are). Once they arrive, they have to sit in orbit until the strike is called, and while waiting have to worry about hostiles landing in orbit with them - this means you need a team in space to defend the guy shooting the planet since he can't defend himself and help you at the same time (think to yourself "wish I had a sniper rifle right now but no supply depot is around" - the same thing in Eve happens as you have to fit for OB and then refit or reship to combat other ships).
And yes, 2500 WP per OB.
EDIT: And you have to hope that they don't get attacked on the way which can either delay them, or destroy them entirely. |

Only time I can provide strikes for my Corp in PC is when we're already winning. If I wanted to provide defensive support, I'm just out of luck.
We need a system like the FanFest tournament, where holding the satellite in orbit earns you a strike at regular intervals. This makes the EVE pilot an actual threat and asset, and provides more incentive for players of both games to work together.
Which, unless I'm severely mistaken, was the whole point of making this game in the first place. |

The better question is...
...how many Eve players are actually participating alongside Dust players in a factional warfare battle?
You will only see Eve players in the game during a factional warfare match and even then you will only see them in the sky above you when one of the teams happens to have a direct association with the Eve player in question.
So far, there are not that many Eve players participating so as a result the vast majority of the OB attacks are from the default NPC warbarge. And considering the fact that the Dust-Eve connection is still relatively loose and will take time to improve, it will be a long while before we start seeing more and more Eve-generated strikes. |

Getting rid of the warbarge in PC and FW would be a start. Also, give us access to orbitals like they did at the fanfest tournament. |

This is also true - after all OB's in PC kill blues, and given how large of an area that they cover, this can devestate the team that calls it in. This really needs to be addressed by CCP as this mechanic is very broken since PC was released. |

I've only seen 1- and it was called in by myself with coordination with a friend who wanted to fire an orbital.
Getting in eve pilot in the right place at the right time is very difficult. If you don't get the name (exact spelling, too) and district number before the fight starts, you're screwed. Not to mention the pilot is forced to be in factional warfare (think it's like a corp) |

Exactly. The risk of killing your own forces outweighs any supposed "risk" of spamming.
Besides, the cooldown doesn't have to be the 30 seconds it was in the tournament. Personally, I'd say to set it at 60-90 seconds.

Yes, last I knew the pilot had to be in FW (which reduces the number of pilots available - many Eve players want to drop OB's but can't because they aren't in FW). Of course that may have changed but I don't think it has. |

They just aren't needed, even in PC. The reaction time is too slow and the extra dmg/aoe can be offset by the fact that a precision strike can be called in faster. They should just get rid of PS all together and force EVE support. Or make PS take a lot longer to call down. Which would make the slower EVE connection a little faster and more useful. Also having a way for EVE pilots to pre aim a strike might help, so it is ready before the player actually calls it in. Also if an EVE player could see the squads WP totals, they could get into position ahead of time in prep, instead of warping in after WP hit and get used by dusters. |

I love how in the trailer for the game where it shows a ship in EVE using an orbital, if you watch the kill feed in the dust part of the video, it's a standard precision strike from the warbarge. OBs are so rare even CCP couldn't capture one on video. |
