It's possible but almost never seen.
Raises hand.
Not only have I seen them from Eve, but I've also fired them from Eve (when I was in a larger corp that is) |

When corp battles were for FW, they were more common because the corps would get the Eve side plenty of notice. Once FW became instant join like pub matches, Eve players can't get there in time. The Eve universe is huge - the pilots available to do a strike might be 10-15 (or more) start systems away. When you figure it takes on average 1-1.5 minutes to go from one system to the next.... well you do the math. |

It's possible but almost never seen. I've seen a few, and provided dozens more. Few people bother anymore because the current system sucks ass.
This - it's hard to coordinate unless you are involved in PC (which most people aren't due to corp size) |

Ansiiis The Trustworthy wrote:Okay. I want someone to explain how I can pull this off. FW battles happen on a variety of planets, how do EVE pilots know where to be when the match starts? And do you still need 2500 points?
You have to tell the Eve player where you are; they then have to travel to the star system (which may be far away from where they are). Once they arrive, they have to sit in orbit until the strike is called, and while waiting have to worry about hostiles landing in orbit with them - this means you need a team in space to defend the guy shooting the planet since he can't defend himself and help you at the same time (think to yourself "wish I had a sniper rifle right now but no supply depot is around" - the same thing in Eve happens as you have to fit for OB and then refit or reship to combat other ships).
And yes, 2500 WP per OB.
EDIT: And you have to hope that they don't get attacked on the way which can either delay them, or destroy them entirely. |

This. It's a great concept but hard to execute. I hope CCP fixes this. |

This - it's hard to coordinate unless you are involved in PC (which most people aren't due to corp size) Not just that, it's the WP thing. Only time I can provide strikes for my Corp in PC is when we're already winning. If I wanted to provide defensive support, I'm just out of luck. We need a system like the FanFest tournament, where holding the satellite in orbit earns you a strike at regular intervals. This makes the EVE pilot an actual threat and asset, and provides more incentive for players of both games to work together. Which, unless I'm severely mistaken, was the whole point of making this game in the first place.
This is also true - after all OB's in PC kill blues, and given how large of an area that they cover, this can devestate the team that calls it in. This really needs to be addressed by CCP as this mechanic is very broken since PC was released. |

Getting in eve pilot in the right place at the right time is very difficult. If you don't get the name (exact spelling, too) and district number before the fight starts, you're screwed. Not to mention the pilot is forced to be in factional warfare (think it's like a corp)
Yes, last I knew the pilot had to be in FW (which reduces the number of pilots available - many Eve players want to drop OB's but can't because they aren't in FW). Of course that may have changed but I don't think it has. |

Thanks for confiming - I've temp unsubbed my Eve accounts to save money for a while. |
