Meh, this ^ is only your interpretation of what you think you are reading.
BTW you forgot to break down this part for me,
"largely to discourage"

Right. Every suit has levels of 'discouragement' inherent in the design.
If a scout wants more health, they have to buy into armor. This prevents speed on their part which is their bread and butter.
They could use the Ferro plates but this is high PG/CPU. This would prevent them from using a shield mod, damage mod, etc as they normally would or force them to use basics. Maybe even force to consider what level of weapons they want to use.
A heavy, for more speed, would have to give up armor plating, which is helpful for a heavy as they are not very fast even with kinetics.
It's not to *prevent* you from playing into these roles. It's forcing you to *think* about how you want to play that role.
Does any of this make sense to you yet? |

Yeah but using CCP's Logic they were not designed to be frontline Assault yet that is what they are being used for just like the FOTM Logi suit was but then CCP nerfed the Logi Suit because it was being used as frontline assault. maybe it was because I started just out of open beta, but I've always thought of scouts as front line assasins that die if you catch them, and that's more or less what they do. logis were always supposed to be a support class that supports...and back then they were horrible compared to assault suits.
CCP Defines the Scout roll as this,
Quote:A scout dropsuit is the best option when missions call for speed and stealth. Equipped with stealth modules, the scout suit is the obvious choice for infiltration, counter-espionage, and assassination.
Nothing about frontline Assault, yet that is what they are being used for. |

Obvious troll is obvious. Call me anything you would like but CCP's word are clear as day. Quote:As mentioned above, these skill changes are largely to discourage assault-focused players from using the Logistics suit as their frontline choice.
Spam that one quote all day if you want, it doesn't make you any less wrong in your assesment of the situation.
1. "Discourage" =/= "prevent" people can - and still do - use the Caldati logi as their fronline choice.
2. "So if logis got nerfed..." as others have pointed out, only ONE logi got "nerfed" and it was primarily due to it being OP.
3. Again, as others have stated, it is not the suit, but the player that determines their particular role.
There was nothing wrong withh CCP's logic in this matter, IMO. The only reason it might seem flawed is because you are attempting to take a single, specific balance adjustment, exaggerating it to encompass the entire range of logi suits, and then trying to twist it and re-interpret it in order to apply it to a completely different suit/role.
It is YOUR logic and interpretation of CCP's actions and the motivation behind those actions that is questionable, if anything. |

A scouts role isn't 'front line' in the way you are thinking.
Are they on the front? Yes, but they are using stealth and speed to avoid the main of the fighting and typically using assassination techniques to kill you.
They are not tanking shots.
They are avoiding shots.
Good scouts are rarely seen and are using their speed to flank, avoid detection and so on to kill you or hack objections. |

Sure, its not my logic that is in question. It is CCP's.
I don't give a hoot if the damn things got nerfed or not, its CCP's reason why they nerfed them that is bugging me becasue with that type of Logic who knows what they will nerf next and why.

They got nerfed because they did not have to give up what other dropsuits have to give up to play a role that is 'outside' their 'intended' role.
That's all.
It's very simple.
There was no sacrifice on the Caldari part, not like a scout has to make sacrifice for health or a heavy for speed.
You're missing the whole point of the statement because you're not observing the larger picture in context to other suits. |

It was incredibly, incredibly apparent that it was unbalanced. If they went into that suit expecting to be nothing but an assault class, why didn't they choose the assault or heavy suit?

Irrelevant. The point is that they are not RESTRICTED to being ONLY used for support, as you seem to believe.
Your lolassesment of the situation is the root of your issues, not CCP's "logic".
Derp.

Attack and call me a troll all you would like sticks and stones, sticks and stones.
Why you so Mad Bro?
Ahhhhh, is someone picking on your little bitty Dev company?
I do not seem to believe, now you are missing the point.
CCP seems to believe "that they are RESTRICTED to being ONLY used for support" and stated it as the reason that they are making the adjustments to the Logi Suit you Jackwad.

Not mad. Don't care. Was bored, so I thought I'd have some fun in your little troll thread.
You've taken one specific nerf to one specific suit, erroneously attributed it to ALL suits of it's class, and then are arbitrarily attempting to apply the reasoning behind that nerf to a completely different class of suits.
Nice try, though. |
