Haha, I have to agree, I downloaded BF3 as part of the PSN+ subscription. Never played any BF games before and I must say it is very confusing compared to Dust. It is deffinitely not noob friendly jumping into multiplayer from the start and I have stopped playing it again to go back to Dust. I remember the beginning of Dust being much easier.

BF3 is a twitch shooter - meaning if your enemy sees you your basically dead if you didn't see them first. You can't run out in the open and you have to consider moving slowly more often then quickly.
Yes, this part got me killed plenty of times until I started to move forward slowly, but I am still killed quickly, even when shooting at a hostile, he turns around and take one shot at me and I am dead. I ended up only running from letter to letter to gain points by recapturing the letters. It is not all bad but there is no tuturials or help text as in Dust on how it works when starting a multiplayer game. |

I would think there is with campaign mode, I did not download it for the singleplayer but for the multiplayer. Allot of peoble here in the forums had praised it fors its balance in multiplayer. I wanted to give it a try and I prefer Dust. |

EDIT: The instant deaths I get in BF3 is much more frequent than playing in militia vs proto players in Dust. Funny, I thought when I first started dust (open beta) it was much harder then bf3 being a vet coming from that game. I guess you just have to get used to how the game plays and before you know it, your getting positive outcomes at the game.
You are right, the difference is what you are used to play before entering a match in BF3 or Dust. I just found it funny that my noob experience with BF3 matches all the complaints about Dust from veteran BF players. I had a long break from FPS games when I started Dust and quickly got into the game.
Now jumping into BF when being used to Dust is very different and I can imagine the same applies the other way around. Dust is very different if you are used to BF and slowly moving ahead and killing with just a few shots.
What bothers me the most with BF3 is that there is no consequences of dying, no loss of game currency. Just respawn and run back to the action. And I destroyed a tank with one shot from my started engineer RPG, are all thanks in BF that easy to destroy? I guess you just respawn and jump into a new tank. And both of my games lasted very long, 41 minutes and 45 minutes, is this normal as well? I ran towards my squads members every time to move around with them but for some unknown reason was the only one that got killed whenever someone opened fire on our 3 man group.
I might give it a try again another time, I was the only noob from what I could see on the player lists where several had stars on their emblems. |
