It's not just you, some poor guy couldn't hit me with his SMG from 10m and I was barely strafing. He was wearing proto so I figured he had to have a t least a little skill. |

I'm ripping apart my isp's help chat right now, they swear my modem is operating in above optimal ranges and they have increased the speeds (I had 18down and 2 up, now I have 25down and 5up) so it seems odd that when my isp does that; dust runs like a dial up game. I have deleted the dust client completely and I running the normal ps3 safe modes, after that is done I am yanking the HDD out of the ps3 and running a HDD health check to make sure it is not on my end.
Seeing as how my isp is willing to talk to me about my concerns, already sets them way HIGHER than anything ccp has ever done for me (i mean ccp still says to turn off Upnp, while sony support tells me not to so it is 50/50)
CCP won't even say if auto aim does anything, I mean they have that dev post that says it is coming back in 1.4 or 1.5 so what is it doing now? ON or OFF it doesn't do anything, and 50 50 for the look speeds is the same as 0 & 0, i tried it out tonight and there was no difference.
I probably will try dust one more time and then play some older games until the ones I want come out on sept 17. |

I noticed this quite strongly, but my theory is this: More people actually play to try the update, meaning less AFK / inactive players, the game can't handle it, framerate goes down, and the result is all kinds of aiming issues and choppy movement.
I hope it's not this, because this would indicate that the game really can't handle 32 players, which surely would be bad news for PC? But from what I can tell so far, it matches the evidence.
I would be very curious to hear from regular PC players, if framerate is generally smooth (especially during intense battles on the larger maps, i.e. anything but Manus Peak or Line Harvest). |

Nope had 6 guys afk-ing tonight, and thanks to ccp's great matchmaking system they were in the following 5 games on my side before I said skip this tonight and decided to check with my isp.

My opinion is that you should actually check your ping instead of DL/UL speed. Anyway, compared to my connection, your connection is awesome

local east coast USA ping is 9, texas is 22, cali is 48 and london is 80 japan is still 110 -130 ping wise

it won't help, something is way off, normally a fresh install corrects it, but I am tired of having to re-install weekly in order to fix this problem, my other games are running just fine.
I saw a guy do the matrix move to avoid my glu fire and a fat suit tried to let me kill him but my bullets just missed point blank and it just got worse from there. |

Hit detection still as horrible as always for me..But i personally think is because we all being push into USA servers in peak time hours.. I just have the feeling that isn't enough people playing Dust outside the US.
As an EU, or Asian player you future in Dust 514 is laggy. Another reason why the player-base keeps dropping in weekly basics. |

I've got a pretty spotty 1.5 mbps connection (in the US), which is about as low as you can go now days and I rarely experience noticeable lag. I'm pretty sure it's mostly on CCPs end somewhere. |

Why do I think that they put something in to 1.3 to make 1.4's changes to the aiming work, but since this is not 1.4 yet it is interfering with what was working for 1.2.
Say something like china put it in but iceland doesn't know about it.
About to re-install dust, if the hit detection is still FUBAR, i'll wait to see what the ps4 can do with this game.....sept 17th's last hurrah of ps3 games won't come fast enough. |

Ok lag in PC isn't solved at all. Still having many bullets not hitting the target at all, and bullets that used to hit hard hit "meh"... well, at least there's not a huge framerate drop anymore...but, again, continent vs continent is really messed up. P.S. That's not my direct experience, my ps3 froze and died today after the last fatal hard freeze...Using another one atm. |

I got some horrible shotgun shots today. Like, shooting way past the target and hitting and shooting on spot while moving and missing. Last one happens a lot, but I was really surprised to see a hit when I was expecting a clear miss. Scrambler Rifle seems as always... Kind of aiming a bit in front of a moving target to hit, I think. Forge is still pretty fun when I manage to actually hit infantry and that's pretty consistent too. That's all I got. |

Yes, 1.3 has had significantly worse hit detection than prior... wait, prior it was bad too... hard to tell. Now it's terrible, I think before it was really bad.
3 hit markers on my Scrambler rifle, straight to the head of that guy who didn't know I was there. No damage, but at least he got the hit notification to turn around and shoot me.

We have found some bugs with the hit detection (they were present in 1.2 as well so it shouldnGÇÖt be any worse) and are currently working on fixes for them.
We are also evaluating some other changes to the hit detection system to improve it.

I also suspect there is a bit of a rose tinted glasses situation going on here regarding chromosome

In the short term we are fixing bugs/problems with it as we identify them. We'll monitor the impact they have. We are considering larger changes in the long term but that is something we would need to be pretty careful with so we're not going to rush in to anything. |

I have had multiple times were I was point blank with bother a scrambler rifle charge and a scrambler pistol, watched it land on the red, shield flicker but no damage.
You guy have yet to fix the "friendly fire" indicator showing up on red guys causing no damage. This problem has been present since the first uprising build and I have posted about it numerous times.

Possibly so my friend. However keep working on that stuff and I think by the time 1.4 comes around you should have a really solid base for you game then.
I have noticed a slow but consistent drop in forum outrage, so you are slowly getting there.
Over the last month or two I've been using the shotguns again, something I have not used since chromosome. I find on maps with little lag the shotgun works wonders, but as soon as the lag starts to pick up its almost impossible to hit anything with it.
I can be up close to a heavy point blank range, I fire and its as if the projectiles pass right through the enemy causing no damage.
I do hope any improvements will benefit the shotgun as well.

This issue was compensated for by the aim assist systems, magnetism and adhesion. That didnGÇÖt make the actual settings good, it just meant they were less of a problem. The thing is, those aim assist systems also caused some targeting issues related to firing angle and target movement. In these situations the assists actually made it harder to aim. Because of this we disabled them and have now completely overhauled them, they will be back in 1.4. Without the assists (and because it simply wasnGÇÖt good) we needed to retune the aim on pad to make it less twitchy. This was not a perfect solution but my hope is that with the new updates weGÇÖll be back on track. Your feedback will continue to be an important part of that and weGÇÖll keep working to improve things. I also suspect there is a bit of a rose tinted glasses situation going on here regarding chromosome This is another common question about the new aim assist system upcoming in 1.4: Will hybrid users that use both the Dualshock 3 controller and Mouse have access to it? Because alot of people now know how to do this in order to have the movement freedom of the DS3 and accuracy of the Mouse. |

I can not even believe that there is a thread on how poor hit detection is on a released FPS with a Dev trying to still fix it by using our input and data.
Other Dev company's would just facepalm if they read this.
Is there a FPS Dev academy?

Easy fix. , but it seems that even though chromozone was the players favorite build, it most certainly seems that ccp was not a fan of it.

Basically, it only seemed like it worked well by circumstance. The issues with aiming that were still there in that build were caused by the same systems that seemed to make the aiming work. |
