CCP turned them into assault suits.
Yup... I have a logi oriented fit that i'll use for PC but for pubs? lulz, no thanks. |

P14GU3 wrote:Logis have always been the most expensive to run (heavys might have had them on cost for a bit,) but its really not feasable to run a protologi in pubs regardless. Congrats caldari, now you know what it REALLY feels like to be a logi.
Whats not feasible about proto logi in pubs?
I was running proto logi with some proto equipment, some basic equipment, basic low modules and basic nades for the last two months? It was glorious. I was also already using a CPU module... its pretty much impossible not to.
I had 600 EHP or so and enough sta to keep up with my assault buddies.
Now? Meh, ishukone gauged nanos and then max out EHP and weaponry... gonna be the true logissault now.
They could have done it in a better way to incentivize cal logis to use equipment... instead they just gave us a choice... EHP or equipment. With pubs being a very self centered playstyle in general... a cal logi who chooses proto equipment over EHP will be a rare breed. |

If armor tanking was balanced with shield tanking, gallente would be hands down better than caldari in every way.
Its the only reason caldari are 'somewhat' balanced after this nerf... simply because shield tanking for dropsuits is OP. |

Cosgar wrote:You know you don't have to run proto equipment, right? Aside from a proto injector or triage hive for when I'm babysitting heavies I rarely use proto equipment and make out fine.
Lol yup... no reason to use it now. I use proto nanohives purely so I can restock ammo faster and continue logissaulting.
Proto injector is pretty sweet for bringing up high armor gallentes and heavies, but meh... i'll easily give it up since it benefits me none.
I wanted to run a triage repair tool, but I think I'll run adv grenades instead once I finish maxing out core skills. No time to rep others when I am so busy assaulting.
Triage nanohive... god their nice but 15 PG is stupid... I can't justify using that in any situation ever. |

Phantom Vaxer wrote:Well it seems you are a dumbass that needs a slap in the face. Hey...psst. Logi suits are more oriented for team support not you tanking damage or dishing out damage. Its nice to see you value armor on a shield suit and damage mods more than your equipment. You never played as a true Logi. CaldLogi was OP in where it was an assault suit with more equipment slots. The nerf made it so CaldLogis no longer have that mindset but you are all ignorant.
The nerf made it so you have to choose between damage, EHP, and equipment.
Sounds good in theory but its not hard to predict what most people are going to choose.
You think cal logi was being overly abused as an assault before? Lol... its gonna be even worse in 1.3. |

Unless you're just being sarcastic, you tend to have a selfish mindset for how to fit a logi suit. I'm not going to tell you how to fit or use it, but if you want to use it as an assault suit with no sidearm and even worse base stats, that's on you. I'd rather be more valuable to my team with whatever equipment I can fit even if I have to give up advanced grenades and a prototype weapon.
nope... I was happy being a logi in 1.2. But with the CPU nerf i'm just pissed off and vindictive now.
When i'm with a squad I'll run some cheap support equipment for them but mostly i'm just going to use my slot and fitting advantage to help overcome my inherent weaknesses compared to an assault suit until CCP drops another respec and then i'll decide if I want to go back into logi (depending on the 1.4 bonuses) or go into assault instead.
That is if I continue to even play this game. They just removed the only game mode I enjoyed (OMS)... so now i'm not sure I even care to stick around anymore. |

And yes, if you want to overcome the inherent combat weaknesses of the logi then you should skill into an Assault suit, that is why they are there.
I was able to live with the slower move speed, lack of sidearm, and lower base stats. But a further reduction in assault capabilities renders the point moot... no reason to bother with cal logi anymore. They are perfectly fine in pubs im sure... since there is little organization and teamwork, but the game mode I really cared about balance was PC and considering skilled assaults were already rolling over logis in that game mode... I can only imagine how it'll be now if I sacrificed more assault potential for 'true logistics'.
I will most likely be speccing into assault when the next respec comes around, depends on the 1.4 bonuses and any further tweaks to the suits. |

Maybe assaults are rolling over logis because assaults are the designed killers while logis are the designed support? Logis still have a purpose, it is just not on the front lines killing assault players.
Not in PC they don't. You will want 1 maybe 2 logis as uplink mules and thats it. No other equipment has any place in PC. |

I was a Logibro- happened to choose Caldari when I made my character, then I went CalLogi because of the Basic Caldari Assault suit. Went Proto in Logi Fitted with needle, proto hives, proto rep tool- pretty much go negative everygame but at the top of the boards with my warpoints per game!
1.3 I cannot run the Logi loadout because its invalid- So I just stacked 3 dmg mods, and some biotics and NO equipment- the suit is absolutley OP I actuallly went positive and killing guys with 5 shots and absolutley helping no1 but my KDR - THANKS CCP you have made me one of them Frontline CalLogis which is the reason for the nerf. Best nerf yet.
I think the best thing you could have done is kept the CPU and reduced the bonus then made the stacking penalty for DMG mods 100%- this would have been fairer across the board (Cannot wait for the reply on this one)
...I will get the popcorn You could've done this with a Gallente assault and had more EHP. What a waste...
This is what happens when you get no respecs.
People were willing to sacrifice a certain amount of combat efficacy while still remaining logistic and providing support for their team.
CCP decided the gap wasn't large enough. People were not willing to give up so much combat efficacy to continue to keep their equipment and support.
Everyone points and laughs and scream FOTM yadda yadda. But it doesn't matter and its not constructive at all.
These people don't have the 2.47 million it will take to get into a caldari assault, and until they unlock proto caldari assault a combat focused proto cal log will do the job better (better than proto basic medium too)
Yeah it is a complete waste... if we just issued a respec so people could change their skill allocation to represent the new play style changes made by CCP, the whole game would be in a better place. Assaults would do assaulting, logis would do logi, and there would be no grey area in between like CCP intends.
You wanna scream NO MORE RESPECS!! Well this is what we get. A bunch of faux cal logis that will maintain their 'acceptable level of combat efficacy' and drop their equipment to do so. The ones that dont just quit the game will continue that way for the next 3ish months or so until they can grind their way into assault and get their weaponry up.
People think its not a small change, but its a HUGE change for the way cal logis play this game.
I don't care about balance or anything, I'm not trying to say the changes weren't necessary. Fact of the matter is, they drastically changed people's playstyles... they are 'adapting' by becoming slow assaults. |
