What about scouts? Scouts are for sniping, therefore they shouldn't be able to use shotguns. OR scouts are for... scouting? Therefore they shouldn't be allowed to snipe or use a shotgun and should be restricted to a sidearm so they can run faster into enemy territory and scout for the rest of us.
What about assaults? They are a front-line combat suit, therefore they should be restricted to front-line weapons and loadout only. So no mass drivers, no snipers, no tac rifles, no plasma cannon, no swarms, and no equipment slots etc etc. They should only be able to use shotguns, assault rifles (except the tac), and assault SCR rifles. And they should be restricted to locus nades only, as they shouldn't be an AV class.
I could go on, but you see how stupid that sounds? Why should each class be locked into a specific role? The fun thing about this game is being able to mix and match to come up with whatever is effective and what we enjoy using most.
As a combat logi I shot people yes, but I also carried around 3 different equipment to better help my team, whether that be several hives, uplinks, remotes for objectives... you name it.
What?? Are you trying to imply that Caldari logi's have been nerfed so that they can't kill anything any more? Has your gun suddenly stop firing bullets? Has it been replaced by a magic healing wand? Forge gun isn't the most effective anti-infantry weapon, even if it can be used as one if desired. Same goes for caldari logi -- it's not (I hope) the baddest killer, but feel free to kill things with it or fit it for the maximum killer fit it can, if you want.
If I can still get some kills on an almost completely free almost completely militia fit logi suit, I'm sure you caldari logi's can manage to get the occasional kill AND support your team as a logi is intended to do. You're not prevented from "[mixing] and [matching] to come up with whatever is effective and what [you] enjoy using the most". But as for the role of specifically being a reasonably mobile, versatile, front-line fighter and killer: assault should always be *best* at that, even if other roles can do it nearly as well. |
