yep. CCP turned them into assault suits. Yup... I have a logi oriented fit that i'll use for PC but for pubs? lulz, no thanks.
Logis have always been the most expensive to run (heavys might have had them on cost for a bit,) but its really not feasable to run a protologi in pubs regardless. Congrats caldari, now you know what it REALLY feels like to be a logi. |

yep. CCP turned them into assault suits. Welcome to the world of every other logi suit. Newsflash: the minmatar logi is way better than the caldari now. Not only does it have better sprint and base speed(strafing) it has 40 more CPU, the ability to armor tank as well as shield tank, better bonus, & 4 equipment slots. Newsflash look at the amarr logi now. Newsflash the gallente logi suit has 25% reduction in pg & cpu of equipment, and can armor tank to stack with its +5 armor rep bonus and use its own triage nanohives to have insane survivability. Get the idea? The caldari logi is now the worst logi suit. The ONLY thing is has going for it, is that its shield oriented, because the slot count is irrelevant since you MUST use cpu extenders. And if you want a decent recharge time you MUST use regulators. and doing that means you CANT have real equipment.
My gallente suit MUST use a cpu mod with my bonus.. so what's your point? |

I want to use the Freedom MD, but have to settle for an EXO-5 for equipment. I want to have all complex extenders in my highs, but I know that equipment is going to be more beneficial to my squad. Those ferroscale plates? Sorry, equipment... see a trend? Toss an enhancer in the low slot, balance your equipment and be glad that this is all the CaLogi got, you almost got the entire logi class ruined if CCP listened to all those crazy ass demands from ignorant players that thought everything in yellow was OP.

Ok lets talk gallente and their lows.
One slot gets taken for cpu mod.
One for complex repair (both mandatory)
That leaves us three slots to tank with. (Unless you tank shield too, which LOLGal shield)
Face it, caldari have a way better tank even with equipment. You want me to feel bad that you can't run better equipment than me when my bonus is for equipment? |

And yes, if you want to overcome the inherent combat weaknesses of the logi then you should skill into an Assault suit, that is why they are there. I was able to live with the slower move speed, lack of sidearm, and lower base stats. But a further reduction in assault capabilities renders the point moot... no reason to bother with cal logi anymore. They are perfectly fine in pubs im sure... since there is little organization and teamwork, but the game mode I really cared about balance was PC and considering skilled assaults were already rolling over logis in that game mode... I can only imagine how it'll be now if I sacrificed more assault potential for 'true logistics'. I will most likely be speccing into assault when the next respec comes around, depends on the 1.4 bonuses and any further tweaks to the suits. Maybe assaults are rolling over logis because assaults are the designed killers while logis are the designed support? Logis still have a purpose, it is just not on the front lines killing assault players. Not in PC they don't. You will want 1 maybe 2 logis as uplink mules and thats it. No other equipment has any place in PC.
My starting fit is always an uplink mule, but after I have spammed them, I can switch to a real logi suit and play as a real logi. You know throw out some hives, rep a bit, god forbid I revive someone... |
