CCP turned them into assault suits. Welcome to the world of every other logi suit. +1
CCP didn't turn them into assault suits, you simply do not have a logi mindset. Every other suit has to make compromises when it comes to fitting, it is not CCPs fault that equipment is at the bottom of your priority list for what needs to be fitted. Since clearly your choice of fitting indicates your combat efficiency is more important to you than your ability to support teammates, perhaps logistics was the wrong path for you to follow. |

Logi suits are more oriented for team support not you tanking damage or dishing out damage. Its nice to see you value armor on a shield suit and damage mods more than your equipment. You never played as a true Logi. CaldLogi was OP in where it was an assault suit with more equipment slots. The nerf made it so CaldLogis no longer have that mindset but you are all ignorant. The nerf made it so you have to choose between damage, EHP, and equipment. Sounds good in theory but its not hard to predict what most people are going to choose. You think cal logi was being overly abused as an assault before? Lol... its gonna be even worse in 1.3. I don't think it's going to be worse at all, I think most players who go with Caldari medium suits are going to look at the their two options for specialization and realize if they want to be more combat focused they are better off going with the Assault suit. You know, because that makes sense.
And no, I'm not saying that a Cal logi shouldn't be able to be an assault player if you want. Go ahead, make a separate fit with less equipment and more eHP and damage mods. You will more than likely be less efficient at it than someone with Caldari Assault suits, but its still there as an option if you are low on skill points and want a bit of diversity. |

Aside from a proto injector or triage hive for when I'm babysitting heavies I rarely use proto equipment and make out fine. Lol yup... no reason to use it now. I use proto nanohives purely so I can restock ammo faster and continue logissaulting. Proto injector is pretty sweet for bringing up high armor gallentes and heavies, but meh... i'll easily give it up since it benefits me none. I wanted to run a triage repair tool, but I think I'll run adv grenades instead once I finish maxing out core skills. No time to rep others when I am so busy assaulting. Triage nanohive... god their nice but 15 PG is stupid... I can't justify using that in any situation ever. Unless you're just being sarcastic, you tend to have a selfish mindset for how to fit a logi suit. I'm not going to tell you how to fit or use it, but if you want to use it as an assault suit with no sidearm and even worse base stats, that's on you. I'd rather be more valuable to my team with whatever equipment I can fit even if I have to give up advanced grenades and a prototype weapon. nope... I was happy being a logi in 1.2. But with the CPU nerf i'm just pissed off and vindictive now. When i'm with a squad I'll run some cheap support equipment for them but mostly i'm just going to use my slot and fitting advantage to help overcome my inherent weaknesses compared to an assault suit until CCP drops another respec and then i'll decide if I want to go back into logi (depending on the 1.4 bonuses) or go into assault instead. That is if I continue to even play this game. They just removed the only game mode I enjoyed (OMS)... so now i'm not sure I even care to stick around anymore. Sounds to me more like you are happy being a logi so long as it doesn't impede on your assault capabilities. The Caldari logi can still be a great logi, it just can't while simultaneously being a great assault.
And yes, if you want to overcome the inherent combat weaknesses of the logi then you should skill into an Assault suit, that is why they are there. |

PS. i thought it was funny and ironic, on his fit he had logi stuff pre nerf and just a nanohive post nerf. hilarious because thats how my proto fits turned out. Wow yeah now people who were combat focused but still wanted to make their equipment slots useful just have compact nanohives now. The law of unintended consequences...also known as having no test server. But those of us determined to be actual logis with the advanced suit will fit a CPU mod, enhanced regulator, and 3 CSEs with middling equipment. We'll lose a lot of armor and be really afraid of flux grenades. Maybe because there isn't supposed to be a suit that is both combat efficient and equipment efficient at the same time? Even the Amarr Logistics which is deemed as the combat logi can only fit enough to become a half-ass logi and half-ass assault at once. Plus I'm sure those determined to be an actual logi at the advanced level won't be trying to fit three complex shield extenders.
Finally yes, if you are going to shield tank you're going to be really afraid of flux grenades. I'm an armor tanker and I'm really afraid of locus grenades, mass drivers, and flaylocks (even after the update). What do you want? A suit that can have excellent combat efficiency while laying down prototype equipment and not have a weakness against a particular weapon? |

I was able to live with the slower move speed, lack of sidearm, and lower base stats. But a further reduction in assault capabilities renders the point moot... no reason to bother with cal logi anymore. They are perfectly fine in pubs im sure... since there is little organization and teamwork, but the game mode I really cared about balance was PC and considering skilled assaults were already rolling over logis in that game mode... I can only imagine how it'll be now if I sacrificed more assault potential for 'true logistics'. I will most likely be speccing into assault when the next respec comes around, depends on the 1.4 bonuses and any further tweaks to the suits. Maybe assaults are rolling over logis because assaults are the designed killers while logis are the designed support? Logis still have a purpose, it is just not on the front lines killing assault players. |
