Nope saw my fill of this nonsense yesterday, it is more than just the nonsense of seeing a barbie convertible acting like an armored car.
There is what protecting the driver? The windshield? Add in that LAV's only became a problem when they "fixed" the controls because everyone and his brother said they were useless. Then add in a smidge of the riduculous.... if you roll your car in real life just how fast are you going to climb out of it and push it back to the normal upright position. Funny how you didn't bend the axle or that it can still do full damage to a pedestrian at 0.1 mph or whatever is the equivalent for you kph people.
Not to mention anything along the lines of the homeless squeegy guy they all seem to use at the red-lights to clean the blood off the windshield.
But why is it that only un-manned turret installations can damage the driver, and why did I have to switch to contact grenades in order to hit the driver vs using the proto level packed AV grenade.
I even saw one guy over in tech support claiming that AV grenades are lasting to long on the ground, which after the fit of laughing I thought to myself... why does the grenade even disappear in the first place without exploding?
CCP couldn't even give me a few months of distraction waiting for a game I actually want to play that has some sort of actual point to it.
And that is only if you are facing 1 LAV what happens when they have 3 and a tank in the distance and a dropship overhead?
Simple solution to the problem, CCP give me 1 game mode without vehicles.... since laser rifles are soon going to be cutting me down before the LAV can even run me over.
Otherwise, CCP you may want to think about giving us the blue tortoise shell from mario kart because it is just plan full tard, and as we all know thanks to tropic thunder you don't go full tard. |

Nah, see, because there's not a statue in Jita that I can fire at 23/7 this is my method of protesting. Earning SP without doing a damned thing to actually earn it so that I'm still gaining something without having to put myself in a situation that is obviously broken and wouldn't have occurred if proper balancing procedures were in place. |

You know, while I am tired of the vehicle train ruining what starts out as a pretty d*** good firefight, there are games I get a kick out of baiting the LAV drivers. I kind of had this, "Oh look!" moment, when I made two of them do a head on collision into each other, and to my suprise....they died. Imagine that scenario.
Even better, I learned how to bait the LAV's by learning how to try and dodge the mass driver/flaylock exodus.
I think, regardless of what is being used, in some cases it's a matter of skill and in others, just OP.
But those Logi LAVs suck, hands down. My good AV's get shrugged off when they have hard core armor rep

And, bear in mind, there's nothing to stop them from going back to base to chill next to the supply depot to recover from whatever that repair module couldn't handle.
I'll just insert: "If only we had Stasis Webifiers" but, remember, Dust 514 IS NOT EVE ONLINE. We can't borrow ideas that have worked in a game that's lasted over a decade  |

The reason they're not an issue in -every other game that has vehicles- is a nifty little thing called Acceleration and Maximum Speed. Most other games the LAV comparison doesn't chuck out to 100+ km/h as soon as they hit the pedal and aren't so agile as to have performance racer-like handbrakes that allow for instant 180 degree turns.
See any Battlefield game for more details.
Edit: Also, they usually don't have a sound bug which makes them ninja stealthy and can also be heard from quite a distance away. |

Hey I know, I have tried to jump on top of the hood of the stopped LAV and shoot the driver out, but I ended up taking damage to the tune of 60points of damage for a stationary "stuck" lav that flipped itself over a railing.
Or how about cooking a AV grenade, why does it not explode when they hit me.... a la the grenade just vanishes like a popcorn fart in huricane, faster than the grenade disappears if you throw in front of an LAV.
IF complaining is what got my CPU nerfed for my logi suit, get ready ccp as I am going to beat this horse into some ikea food courts meatballs. |

Yeah, nerfing the CPU was a bit much imo... The issue was the bonus - not the fitting capability, but what the hell do I know.
What's even more entertaining is the fact that you -CANT- jump over an LAV because the collision box covers the turret as well, so even though you'll completely clear the vehicle the turret will still kill you no matter what. You're ONLY option is to kill it and even then the wreckage will often run you down anyway.
Any driver worth his salt will notice you're using AV and just jump out with an HMG or something else and if you bring a tank to the field they'll just use their own AV options to deal with you. They're more versatile than Assault Rifles. |
