What would PC look like if you could only have a team made up of the corps actually in the attack or defense? No ringers. Would it be a better and more competitive landscape?
If you were a corp that could only field 10, then that's all you get. Alliances would still matter, but everyone would have to be a lot more strategic.
Anyway, I was thinking that this morning. It would be an interesting dynamic. |

Given the entire goal of the game is for you to be able to "hire mercenaries", it'd kinda defeat the purpose. And there would simply be a lot less corps able to participate. |

I don't know, you could still hire mercs to attack for you. They would just have to lead the attacks on their own. And do you think there would be less participation?
I don't know. I think more corps would get into PC if they knew who they were fighting or defending against.
Just thoughts. |

It's a good question. It's a matchmaking issue. Right now, the only reason three groups aren't dominating the entire map is that they've "agreed not to". In a territory fight gameplay, you can't segregate top tier, mid tier, and low tier combattants.
If you know that an attacked district can only contain the members of that corp, then corps that know they can beat such and such corp can get guaranteed wins. Part of the suspense and challenge of PC is knowing they can swap something out on you. |

Basically if you are down with a game with a very tiny playerbase where roughly 5% of those players control the goings on in PC in some shape or form then dust is for you.
If you made PC corp only, it would just make it more difficult to ring. ringers would need to temporarily join the corporation fighting.
In the end no matter what CCP does, the general idea behind Dust 514 will never change. The majority of this game is designed to be player driven and controled.
You heard it correctly, CCP left this shooter game in the hands of a bunch of FPS players and EvE fanbois. |

Good point about people finding a way to bring ringers in, no matter how it's built. |

Indeed. Good point Max. That's how we handled money transfer when that could only be done inside a corp too.
The reason everyone can buy starter packs, is that if each corp could only buy starter packs when they had no districts, corps would just use altcorps.
Basically: Locking down the player is almost never the solution, as players are very good at getting around things. |

I think the game is meant to involve the 'meta' of politics, alliances, betrayals, etc. and that that is what will make it marginally deeper than just an ongoing "Clan Ladder Tournament" which is what a lot of people want when they say "only use your own corp!"
It would also just result in corp hopping and make 'mercenary work' more cumbersome. |

Hard to believe Murder Cakes of Dooms would be against eliminating ringers when they fight using mostly people from other corps. |

Both sides.
You think it's gonna be an easy win against a no-name corp? Bringing in ringers will allow for smaller corporation to be able to participate in PC.

The term 'ringer' has an exceptionally loose definition on this game. The presence of alliances and having players from your alliance assist in your battles is not 'ringing' hiring or bringing in someone that has no affiliation with your corp or alliance Is. A 'ringer'
Problem is there is no distinguishing the 2, and very little to no pride in corps doing anything on their own. This is the inherent issue that's causing so muuch QQ lately.
Is there a solution? No.
Should we make matches 'corp only'? No
The only thing that can put this under control is each individual corp, and we've already seen the mentality of most is that of 'win at all costs'
Good thing about the tournament. Everyone will know who will be on the other side.
As for pc, get your corp organized and able to field 6 teammates. You will be so much better off |

Don't start the ringer conversation again, Cubs. We've beaten that horse to death.
Se\7eN tries as hard as possible to field a full 16 for every battle. We think that's important. There's nothing like seeing S.e.V.e.N across from every name on the scoreboard.

not trying to start a conversation on it. Its gonna happen regardless, and few corps out there take pride in it being their own team on 1 side.
but the mentality of tweedle-dum-a$$ over here is what is becoming the norm in PC.
the little guy, attacking the little guy, but both use outside help to make them more competitive...
takes away from the experience, but nothing anyone can do cause its the little guy themselves that started it, and continue to do it, and subsequently QQ over it.
quite funny tbh
even funnier is a good portion of these players doing the ringing have ZERO presence in PC, cause they know they would last less time than the little guys.

This isn't the goal of the game. That's a marketing buzzline by CCP. |

There needs to be a "instant battle" type tab for ringing for corporations that Armored Core 5 has if you want "ringers" they put thier price u hire them and they are automatically paid at the battles competition. Each merc is given a rank based on performance in battles. Its not a hard thing to think of maybe its hard to implement. CCP is just not listening to us anymore. Everything we talk about is set in the wayside because the people who play this game for 1 day and leave QQ on general discussions and crowd it up with nonsense if i could sit down with a dev for 2 hours i would give him so much information on how to make the game better on mechanics that need to be implemented to make it enjoyable for everyone regardless of skill level but lets be honest thats never going to happen. I think if dust is going to get better CCP needs to create a channel for about 10 people and 5 devs to just chat about what we think could use and could improve the game. Invite Me(Scout),Cubs((heavy),Exmaple(tank),Kujo(Assault),Reiselia(logi). Then we can tell you guys exactly what needs to happen to our different classes to make them exactly as they are meant to be. I have so many aurum items that should be in this game that would give a boost to CCP's bottom line. Ideas to make PC relevant for small corps. Ideas to make pub matches funner for everyone. Game modes and map ideas. But the game is going to be dead and it wont even matter.

Not hard to believe that when you guys lose to people who bring ringers will start complaining about ringers. |
