I use proto but not to pad my kdr. I actually spend the majority of the game spamming the field with uplinks. Repping people, dropping nanohives, hacking and running to supply depots to switch fits. Proto gives me the cpu i nee to run 3 uplinks in all my slots. In any match I use at least 3 different suits so I can play a support role to the best of its potential.

Personally I try to judge the flow of the match and run gear accordingly....I generally try to start out with militia, or at most advanced, and then if my team is losing to proto gear etc I change fitting accordingly. Goes both ways too; if I'm running solo and getting stomped I will generally suit down and get reckless. I still think that proto gear isnt the problem, its that players with proto have a lot of SP, generally from playing the game a bit and so a squad of 6 of these guys working as a team is always going to be a force to be reckoned with. Just need more incentive for those 6 man proto squads to go somewhere else rather than stomping public games. |

Sure we have a few players who like to run their Proto and we don't stop them, but by and large most of us don't. Also, I could count on one hand the number of guys in our corp that run Proto cal logi or are spec'd into flaylocks, so stay classy. |

Well, it's not. Not sure why someone would bother, seeing as how that seems to be viewed as a weakness in this game anyway. |

The power differential that is created when a proto suit is used vs. an advanced or standard suit is pretty drastic. I think that its a major problem.
They did a pretty good job with weapons... having them only increase about 10% in power... yet a proto suit is almost twice as effective as a standard suit? I think we need some serious rebalance on that front.
Also... standard vs. proto hp modules is a joke. I think we need to take a lesson from vehicles and completely rework how hp modules work in this game.
For Example: 'Light Shield Extender' 30-35-40 hp 'Heavy Shield Extender' 55-60-66 hp

Haha no doubt. You guys have made a ton of money off PC, too, so it's not like you are in danger of going broke. I ran my Proto suit for a long time simply because it was the only way for me to run 3 equipment slots as Amarr, but I started bleeding isk. |

I agree with you, and I think they should seriously consider adding a slot and some pg/cpu to the STD and ADV suits, for the sake of newer players who are months away from Proto suits. When you look at the ADV Amarr Logi after this patch it is the same as the current Proto Logi with less pg/cpu, and I think the other adv suits should be brought up a little to match it. |

I ran my Proto suit for a long time simply because it was the only way for me to run 3 equipment slots as Amarr, but I started bleeding isk. even outside of PC, i still make a good ~500k ISK on every set of 10 protosuits I lose..it's a slow growth, but it's not like I need the isk.
and again, running around solo and having the entire team throw themselves at you because they hate proto gear is the best
running proto logi every game would be an issue though...**** isn't cheap |

I only have proto fits made... I find adv fits just clutter the fitting screen when I never use them.
I probably die 1.5 times per match on average I would say.
175k per fit x 1.5 = 262.5k isk i lose per match, my average payout is probably fairly similar.
I probably always break even playing pubs with proto suits.
However.. in you win in PC.. you spend probably 1 mil on suits and make back 2.5 mil or so. That's where I get my income.
Not to mention I still 140 mil left after the 1.0 asset liquidation (this is after donating a ton to the corp)
So yeah... I never forsee myself running out of money running all proto all of the time. |

Are you joking? I've never once seen you or your corp in a match, and to say that would be a giant stretch seeing as how I can name a lot of corps that do it exclusively, but I'm not going to because that's not the point of the thread. If you want to antagonize and flame, go to the war room. |

I run ADV gear fits in pub matches (~30k isk) almost exclusively. However, because I armor tank, I find it necessary to ensure that my ADV fits have the same speed penalties as my proto fits (within specific roles). This keeps the feel of my ADV fits the same as the proto ones. For anyone else that armor tanks, I think it is a good practice to follow as it keeps the kinesthetic/proprioceptive feedback consistent across all games and facilitates the kind of fine dexterity required for a high level of play. Not that I'm particularly good, but I might as well try to give myself every advantage possible. Just a suggestion...

Mostly just to work on gun game more. You have to fight a lot differently when you can't just outclass your enemy with raw hp and damage output. |

I run standard dropsuits, almost all standard actually, and advanced weapons. Most of the prototype stuff doesn't appeal to me so I haven't even bothered to spec that high.
I give it to those guys who can run the proto gear effectively because they are obviously sure of their skill in being able to make up ISK to cover the difference.
I, however, don't have that confidence. LOL!!!
Anyway, no, you aren't the only corp that runs STD or ADV in public matches. Though I'm sure somone probably already said that. |

I ran Proto suits for a while. The cost didn't equate with efficacy. The satisfaction of taking down a 100,000+ ISK suit with Militia gear is so much more satisfactory. I still average about 3/1 KDR and >2,000,000 ISK in profit every night.
