Currently, winning a pub match has little reward worth breaking out A-game levels of competition. AFK'ing or even just messing about in starter fits nets about equal rewards with trying to run squads and win in all but a few occasions.
Why not start a reputation system, each win adds a little to it, each loss drops it a bit. Similar to EVE's standing system. As your reputation goes up, your isk rewards go up as well. Eventually, when you can choose the corp you are fighting for on a regular basis (faction warfare isn't cutting it) this can merged with the reputation rewards.
This would need to have better matchmaking implemented first probably, because it would give an actual reason to proto stomp.
Also wouldn't mind if the WP->SP cap was over 1k after using all your bonin a pub skirmish it's pretty easy to go over that if you are running some AV, when lone-wolfing, just hit 1k WP then mess about.
I just really want to feel like my actions are having an impact, is why I loved EVE so much and why I'm playing DUST.

For this to even be considered you would need to have it where people get their stats locked in and they have a message showing them that they are now accountable for a win or loss regardless of if they are there or not. Then you would need to have a traitor or deserter penalty for those who bail out anyways and have someone else getting nailed possibly as well.
Yeah we need to be having some rewards for what we do and penalities for what we do as well, which is similar to what occurs in Eve. Though how you orinigally stated it, it would be heavily abused, just like how people afk in the mcc right now.
To prevent that, make it like EVE's mission system, you accept the contract to fight for them, and you either complete the contract and gain standing, or you don't, either through losing or leaving, and you lose standing. Could even just have it be no gain/loss for losing and standing loss for leaving. Should help new players out a bit. |
