Most of being a Logi IS in core upgrades.
Are you stating the obvious that buying a hull or suit that you can't effectively fit is a bad idea? Because that's been said many times before. |

I worked mine back and forth. which is why I didn't get proto suits until like a month ago
and as a logi I had to train up a bunch of equipment to go with it |

And that why you got the basic proto suit the one that half the sp cost of the specialised ones and the same as the assault. |

Its called PC, we cant afford to not have at least 10mil SP into a fitting well designed & effective or you'd get owned in PC, the skill core upgrades is an SP sink past level 2, and CPU & PG only needs level 3, and after that is an SP sink. As for the equipment that falls under core upgrades, uplinks and nanohives are the only ones worth a damn, and mostly just uplinks. |

Many have enough SP for both. And others favour variety over specialisation. |

yeh, I have yet to see a reason to take cpu and pg to 5.. but I do have lvl 4 , need it for a couple very specialized roles in my advanced logi.. it's too specialized to put on a proto suit |

Doesn't matter I can carry my own nanohives and I'm gallente so the needle will either heal 20% 50% or 80% so I will have a chunk of armor left. |

Electronics 5 is now mandatory for cal logis come 1.3...

As for the equipment that falls under core upgrades, uplinks and nanohives are the only ones worth a damn, and mostly just uplinks. dafuq? cpu and pg only at level 3? no core skills past level 2? are you a troll? core skills add 1% to PG & CPU for every level, thats almost a million SP for 3% extra base pg & cpu past level 2, its 960k SP to get a weapon from operation 1 to proficiency 3, to allow officer weapon usage.
getting cpu & pg from levels 3-5 requires 1.2mil each, just for the last 2 levels, thats a whole 'nother racial proto suit if you choose so.
The only time you'd need to put SP into all that would be to maximise CPU or PG because you either dont want to use any low slots for cpu or pg extenders at all, or you want to use only very few slots for them, and need the complex extenders rather than enhanced.
There are smart ways to spend your SP to get the most of out of it. Its a bit like taking a single weapons extra skills to level 5, ya sure you may get increased 6% damage from proficiency 4&5, but that will cost you more SP for those 2 levels than getting an entire other weapon from operation 1 up to proficiency 3.
Gigantic SP sinks that give you a slight advantage, and the only time those are useful are for highly specialised builds.
And in this game with s*** getting nerfed left & right you do NOT want to be that specialised. |

At 16m sp... I easily have all core upgrades at level 3.( a few are level 4 but cpu ang pg are definately at level 5.) I have a proto suit and proto assault rifle. proto flaylock proto uplinks. nanohives at level 4. all shield upgrades at level 5. proto nades in 200k sp so give me a week. Advanced swarm launchers Lav skills (which to me are now kind of essential if you want to cap objectives fast in the beginning of the match) Turret upgrade skils to increase damage delt when in vehicles too.
I do not feel extremely specialized but if your in this game for the long haul then core skills become more necessary. You may see it as a 1% bonus that will hardly do anything but that 1% will follow you in every match you play and in every drop suit you use. I agree that skill points shouldn't be wasted but how useful is having multiple proto suits when all your core skills are at level 2? You can only use one suit at a time and so you have over a million sp that is not helping you at all unless you bring out that suit. I do agree somewhat with your points. There is no need to max out your skills such as getting level 5 for everything. Level 4-5 are expensive but only a few skills are worth the sp to go into level 5. I think level 3-4 is a better cut off point depending on the skill.
I do plan on eventually getting another proto suit and more guns but that is mostly for when this game starts to get boring and I want a new toy to play with. Right now I have all the dren suits so I can play as a logi, assault, scout, or even a heavy. They may be standard suits but the core skills sure do help with all of them. Having my cpu maxed allows me to use a rep tool, advanced uplinks and advanced nanohives on a standard logi suit which makes a suit that costs less than 25k a point making monster. |

I do have proto but it's the basic medium frame so there no need for assault and the only useful true logi is gallante and mimintar and caldari getting nerfed and armarr is armarr. |
