Mainly applying to infantry grenades. The grenades damage are disproportional to the gun damage in this game. Simple as that. |

Please read the dev blogs and patch notes that cover this already. The patch notes are at the top of the general discussion section of these forums. Contact grenades are getting nerfed.
Disproportionate to gun damage? These are grenades for crying out loud. They are suppose to be disproportionate to gun damage. |

It takes away a skill element. People are just spamming grenades instead of relying on tactics and knowledge. The players have 100s of HP to add to the teamwork and skill element of the game. One weapon shouldn't be able to wipe all that out.
In other games, Grenades do about the same damage has 3 hits from a standard weapon. In DUST they do 8x the damage(minimum) |

No doubt, because they eliminate the "lucky shot" that most people get in this game, because all they do is spam nades

I've dodged dozens of grenades, provided their not contact nades.
I think I've only got 3 or four kills with regular nades. |

Might as well get rid of LAVs while we're at it if you want to go by that logic. No skill needed in running over people. Hell, might as well get rid of remote explosives since you can just chuck one down to the floor and take out a whole pack of mercs in one go.
Besides, at least be happy that you get an indicator telling you where the grenade is at. Back during closed beta, we didn't have that. |

By that logic i can't see where the problem lies.

Since I've been playing on the beta, grenade spam has been a major problem. I don't blame players for doing it. Why shoot 15 rounds into someone, when you can just chuck grenades while standing over a Nanohive or Supply Depot?
I think the skill in this game should be gun based. Not vehicles and/or grenade spam. I've seen players go 20-0(even 30-0) using only M1s, or normal Locus nades, because they are way more effective than any gun.
If grenades did 50% less damage you'd still have to use some skill, but you'd still get 1HKs against MLTs, and already wounded enemies.
I'm guilty of it too, I've wiped out entire squads simply by chucking 3 nades in the right pattern. It took zero skill.
I'm just clinging to what I heard when the game was first put onto PS3 "Player skill is the most important aspect we try to maintain". If DUST/CCP has plans to become a MLG class shooter, they need to eliminate the "freebie" kills.
Players have more HP in this game for a reason, You can't just spray 3 lucky shots and get a kill in DUST, so you shouldn't be able to just toss nades over and over. Unlimited explosives is a huge sin in FPS. Best example was Danger Close/One Man Army Noob Tubes from CoD MW2. |

They still are if you're in a gallente suit, not to mention the fact that if one hits you you're MORE dead than if you'd been shot. |

lol man that brings me back. Guy was talkin' sh** to me in the lobby for no reason and I didn't even say anything back to him. Match starts and I rack up 25 kills with noob toobs, claymores, C4, and kill streaks. I then asked a teammate if the guys with the big mouths were mad at me. He said "probably" and I said (activate Nuke) how about now? I love messing with big mouth A holes.
It's true that impact Nades and the flaylock are getting nurfed but I think you talking about the cookable Nades. If so then I would have to disagree with you. Maybe limit the number of nades you can have within a single life. So when they try to spam, they'll hit there cap and not even supply depots can give them back there Nades. Being revived wouldn't count. You would have to completely respawn. Would you be happy with that solution?

That's good idea. The splash damage on the nades are fine I think. But the fact that one player can thrown a aerial bombardment of 10 nades is a little crazy. Its like getting your own personal air strike. I hate comparing CoD to DUST, but CoD has been around for 10 years, so you can learn some things from them. Like how they got rid of "Frag x3" after CoD4

Try the core locus grenades in PC guys don't event bother with their weapon till their grenades are out. Ill admit at std level it takes a small bit of skill but at pro with a 7.2m radius it's 0 skill required not to mention the 900damage against armor it's insane. Plus you get 3 tries so **** throw enough nano hives you can deny an entrance from an entire squad just spamming grenades. |

this... regardless of their damage... the grenade spam in dust is ridiculous.
It might be time for CCP to remove grenade replenishment from nanohives. |
