thanks you explained it all very well. Activation time does sound like a benefit. Is it significant?
I was trying to do what you were with proxies and they wouldnt go off - I was putting one down with 3 remotes for example.. Now I know why. Thank you. Will try your way.
I really like remotes but they definitely need to be rethought and worked on. Particularly, individual detonattion through the minimap or pointing/ aiming at the direction of the RE, stickiness etc

All other stats seem the same The benefit is being able to have 1, 2, or 3 sets of REs on different detonators. If you have two sets of STD REs equipped, both sets explode when you detonate one. Different RE types alleviates this problem and allows you to defend multiple terminals at once, or defend a terminal while fighting with the other set.
Hadn't thought of that. That's brilliant. Thanks |

The remotes are fine. No need to mess it up for everyone if YOU can't use them properly. Work on your battlefield awareness first. Just saying.
your an idiot.
remotes have been deployed in the game with little thought as to how they should work
has nothing to do with battlefield awareness. Something I am positive you know nothing about. |

You are an idoit.
I didn't say they should be fixed. I said they havnt been thought about when implimented. Their implementation is rudimentary at best
You also assume a lot.:
Who said I have only been using them for a few days? I have used them since E3 build. And specced higher .
what I asked was what was the benefits going above first tier as damage is the same and being able to place one extra remote doesn't add much for the amount of SP to be spent.
And as an assault I can't carry two different remote styles. But now having picked a second suit (a logi) I now can. So when the previous poster explained you can carry different types doubling the amount it made sense.
Otherwise to an assault there isn't much difference.
But that's ok. You keep plugging away.... |

So much fail by an individual. Your reading and comprehension skills are appalling.
Rudimentary implementation isn't about being 'dangerous and unpredictable', its about CCP not properly thinking about remotes as part of gameplay before implementing them: no individual detonation, no stickiness, PM's do far less damage than AV grenades, no modules for vehicles say which highlight where vehicle explosives are, or dropsuit modules for infantry that can support or hinder remotes etc.
Instead, what we have is a basic action of throw them on the floor - great gameplay design...
(and here is just one topic in the feedback/ request forum about how remotes or PMs could be improved: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=82610&find=unread) |
