Channel: "Ringers Inc."
Come all ye vets and and all ye noobs, to the Ringer's Incorporated Pub, the ironically named home of every truly low-down unincorporated mercenary scoundrel with a black heart and a roaring laugh. Come you indy tankers and alliance grunts, come fatties and chubby chasers, come forgers and scouts, nade spammers and unskilled beggars, you directors and CEOs and lonewolfs all looking to make a buck. Come one and all, there are no rules. Wheel, deal, spy, socialize. Advertise your services, offer contracts, share details on CEOs who run off without paying up, and negotiate your price for the next round. Everything and anything is allowed at the Ringers Inc. pub. Just remember to choose wisely in your dealings - your reputation is everything on this world, and the next...
---
Anyway, as a public service, I have created the channel "Ringers Inc." Feel free to post similar channels below, but I have not seen anything similar advertised and feel this is a niche that needs to be scratched, so to speak. Most ringing is currently handled based on personal relationship... I think there's room for more of a 'market exchange' for ringing services. We are all mercenaries after all. If you are good, this will hopefully give you access to more matches and increased leverage for pricing (right now most ring for free because they can't find matches... shameful), and if you are a new corp you can always find help if you are willing to pay.
Tell your friends, tell your local, mail your corps and alliances - Join the channel: Ringers Inc. is here for you. |

That's the idea Really because in all honesty most of the fights I have seen have been none of the original corp members even in the match and almost entirely EoN based.... if they want fights so bad they shouldn't have crushed LoI so horribly. I see where you're coming from, but it's a bit myopic.
[This isn't really an "EoN." thing ... it's something I think the entire community needs and will benefit from and I didn't even send a corp mail for it strictly so it wouldn't be biased in that direction at the start.]
The 'fun for indys' argument is kind of double edged. I see where you're coming from. These smaller corps can have a really, really hard time fielding a full 16 players. "Well why are they in PC?" My sentiments exactly. IMO they're all taking advantage of the current political winds and farming their 15mil a day. I'm a staunch proponent of wiping everyone else off the map and having an EoN. new world order and forcing the rest of the world to start an awesome rebel war to wipe *US* off the map... good thing I'm not in charge I guess.
And so they ARE in PC for "good fites". Your argument is that ringers ruin good fights. Cool. How are fights going to be better if it ends up being 10v16 because someone couldn't field a full team that day?
Ringers to fill either/both side that needs filling allows the members of those indy corps to actually at which point the debate becomes whether they should be involved in PC at all if they are not capable of the level of organization/roster management required to field a team with 24-48 hours notice. Should just go in and get slaughtered with their 8-10 players that happen to be online, because *that* will really encourage continued participation. Or should they fill their team so at least it's a good fight?
The *other* half of this is the guy who is playing this game as some would say it is meant to be - a rogueish merc for hire. I constantly see threads in various forums for these guys advertising their services. How likely are they to be contacted in the 20 minutes before a fight, even if they are online? The game does not have contracting mechanics in place, so this channel serves this type of gameplay which should not be suborned to corp "gud fites". If indy corps are the little guy looking at major alliances, these often "team oriented but can't be bothered by the politics of a corp" players are the little guy looking at YOU. |
