thoose arnt new maps they are sub maps, a small area within the same map we have had since day one, its time for a totally new 5km +ù 5km map with new terrain. |

Okay, if you want to be really pedantic about it but the point is that they gave us 'new playable areas'. |

Don't know either, but there are at least 3 of 'em in this Screenshot. Could be a nice cover for Dropships. |

The positioning of the MCC along with Objective E and the redline on the radar makes it look like that giant structure is like the city skylines we see on current maps, way beyond the redzone outside of gameplay. |

That is an interesting idea though...
Why would you need a space elevator if you could make a warp-gate on the planet...? |

Silly merc, everybody knows that warp gates aren't usable in gravity wells.

Theres no gravity in space and you can freely reposition in all 3 dimensions if necessary. GL repositiong with flat lands on a planet thats constantly spinning. |

I think once a new terrain map and a couple new structures come into play we will see a lot more variation. If the socketed buildings are built as it is being implied then the similar maps we have now can be changed drasticly by changing out the buildings that populate.
It seems like currently the sizes of the structures are all varried so it seems like there is only 1 choice of structure for each map socket. Hopefully that will change and add a large number of additional variations (even with the addition of 2 /3 new structures) |

New maps, lol,we need actual game. I've spent the cost of 2 premium titles and still dont have enough here to really call it a game, A few rinse/repeat maps that have no actual bearing on anything. The PC battles are just more of the same. They havent even reached the 48 players that the "game" claims to support. not that 48 mercs is really an interstellar conflict. The skill progression wont keep us here forever CCP! You seem real good at putting out packs for us to spend money on,now give us real content. |

I want new content too. I want this game to do good, I want PvE, I want that Penetration mode talked about at Fanfest, I want expanded Merc Quarters, I want FW to matter, I want better aiming, I want constant 30FPS, I want all that, but the game needs to be fixed, before most of that stuff is added, except for better aiming and framerate of course. |

That is NOT going to happen. CCP have already cut positions and reshuffled their staff as it is. ("World of Darkness" team for instance.)
Also, Dust 514 earns profit only on micro-transactions. It is quite easy to play this game as a new comer or verteran and never spend a dime on it. Whereas constant updates to EvE keeps their fanbase happy and plunking more quarters down for the monthly subscription. And judging by the number of players in the Dust-verse (2 to 4 thousand at any given time - of which CCP tries to disguise by lumping the number of EvE players in on Tranquility), the game isn't exactly the next GTA. |

This is true, but if you want this product to succeed in today's market, you need more than the paltry number of maps the game currently has. Players get bored and leave, If CCP is lucky, maybe they've spent a few bucks on micro transactions before they do. If they are not lucky, those disappointed players warn their friends to stay away from the game, negative feedback spreads, and the game will eventually be shut down for lack of turning an acceptable profit.
You can call people with such criticisms of the game "whiners" all you want - and maybe to a degree they are - but they make an important point that you are rather blind to. |

No not a variation actual new stuff They also called the first glimps of domination a "new map" when it was simple the table top nap with slightly altered red lines, and installation placements.
I'm not holding my breath for this "new map" for all we know, it could be identical to the maps we have now, and the only difference are those towers that are deep with the red line. |

How many playable areas will it take to make us happy? Thousands of temperate planets with at least three districts each. I want them all but what is the the number at which we have "too" many? |

Keep in mind that with the socket system one new map is really a bunch of new maps. Yes, unique terrain for each battlefield is impossible. Having a small set of terrain maps with a variety of sockets for different structures and set pieces provides variety while not ending up with a 40GB or bigger client. |
