Also, this is probably more suited to the game if they add the standard EVE Tech system, but it still works without it.

It's been streamlined to reduce the amount of skills needed to near minimum. I intentionally left out size, and other complications. Sidearms use the exact same skills as Heavy Weapons, and Light Frames the exact same skills as Heavy Frames (except for specializations). This is a good thing, since it keeps you from wasting all your skillpoints in one area and then finding out you don't like it later on, and have nothing to fall back on. It also strengthens factional ties. If you skill into Gallente Assault, you're more likely to skill into Gallente Logistics next, rather than Caldari Logistics. Same goes for the weapons.
Also, as I said before, it works better with the EVE Tech system.
