Core Flaylock will have its blast radius like the right now specialist version. I use the specialist and I think it's a pretty balanced weapon. I rarely kill with it unless the guy has dropped shields or it's a militia suit which will need 3 shots to die.
So the blast radius nerf seems ok by me. But then the nerf hammer begins to cast its doom with both direct and splash damage reduction. I think it was too much lol. |

Problem is that it's a sidearm, not a primary. People were using it as a primary. The nerf is attempting to make it not primary.

Lets try it out first and then say yay or nay.
We have to remember while testing that it is only a sidearm and shouldn't be expected to take down Full HP Mercenaries anymore. If it can effectively down someone after weakening them up a bit, I think it'd be pretty balanced. |

Direct shouldn't have been touched, people will keep aiming for your feet now because the Splash damage is still very similar to the Direct, they should've kept the Direct. |

I've been using the advanced flaylock on my alt, and I think these changes will put the weapon where it should have been, as a last resort or 'finisher' sidearm. I've never tried the core flaylock, so I don't know how easy it would have been for me to get kills with it, but the advanced does pack a punch, however it requires decent aim to accomplish this goal due to the 1.5m splash radius. |

You are getting more shots , up to 8. So its a nerf for skill-less players, and a buff for skilled players.
Im sure REALLY skilled players will keep using their core flaylocks, at least as a SIDE ARM.
But then again, knowing how tryhard this community is the flaylock will probably be extinct. SMG's , you are next... |

Bro, people running around with Cal Logi and their ONLY weapon being a Core flaylock and go 33-4 in a game with a 3 shot sidearm. And i KNOW its not because how skilled they are LOL.
At proto level their splash damage is increased and , unlike Mass drivers that have a LOT less splash damage than a direct hit, these little buggers make the same splash damage as they do with a direct hit, making it for close quearters and craped spaces a god like weapon.
I use SMG as my main, and as a side arm a Standard Flaylock (because of the inexistent PG use), and EVEN at Standard level it does hit quite a punch (on directs hits that is, since thats the only way i sue them).
Since i use them for DIRECT HITS ONLY, i kind of like their ammo clip size being increased. I think its the way it should be and i will def be using it more.. |

It's sad really. The weapon has no incentive to perform direct hits. It will still be an easy to use weapon, but it just won't hit as hard. |

Looks good to me.
So why is there a racial bonus to a dropsuit for SIDEARMS? Are you telling me with a Minmatar assault sidearm clip bonus I should still use a light weapon as my primary?
Overall with the nerfing of Cal-logs, and an increased clip size (that has to be incorrect), I expect to be killing more people. Previously it was just heavies and Cal-logis that took 5+ shots to kill, now it will just be heavies . Also, now that the fitting bonus frees up some CPU, I can fit some OP M1's with 6+ splash radius to throw first, maybe next patch people will realize that weapons with 6m+ splash radius take far less skill than ones with 2.5m.

Also, if base clip size is 8... you've given a 100% increase in clip size (10 with min assault 5), and a 24% nerf to splash damage. Do the math. I don't see the clip size in the patch notes, therefore I don't think that's true. |

I think people are confused on that. The Ammo skill for Flaylock doesn't work like Scrambler Pistol Op. It's not going to add to the clip, it's going to add one round to spare ammo each level, rather then 5% each level. At least that's how I understand it. |

Besides, if everyone fit for race-specific bonuses, we'd see shield tanking Gallente and Amarr. |

Less range and shots per clip
Also since CCP actually claimed Primary > Sidearm, drop sidearm weapons to 1x
RoF, splash damage and radius, range - those could have put it rightly in its place and still made the weapon feared up close.

You seem to be quite confused.
The guns will still have 3 shots per clip.
The ammo skill (you know, the skill that increases the total amount of ammo that every gun can spec) now gives a flat 1 missile per level, instead of 5%. |
