Can I please understand why this weapon is "OP?" DPS? HMG has more DPS than it. Range? 60 meters and after that our damage drops so much that it's like bug bites.
I don't understand you people, I really don't. Also, I love how you all ignore the assault scrambler rifle. It has the same DPS as the assault rifle, almost the same range, bigger clip size, tighter hip fire. And while yes, it has overheat, but it's insignificant, it takes a clip and a half of constant fire to overheat it
This just shows me obvious butthurt, you people can't take the fact that there are general purpose weapons and niche weapons.
Wait for all the racial Assault rifles, then talk balance. |

I have proto HMG, proto scrambler rifles, proto AR's.
The AR is still king. The scrambler is fun, but the recoil is more than the AR, and for some reason it feels like the "bullets" travel slower. The HMG... lolHMG.
What i find funny is that the AR has the "Sharpshooter" skill while the SR doesn't have a skill like that, or a more specialized skill, like something to reduce heat... i don't know, something. The SR's are still good though, just that the AR is, and always will be the king of the battlefield. |

I think that was the point of the Hail the AR crusade, not that it is totally broken. - Though some people getting hit by a Gek or Duvolle may have another opinion but I think that maybe lag. |

From my experience the AR has initially more recoil and bullet spread than the scrambler assault rifle, the problem is the scrambler assault rifle do not benefit from skills the AR does with two skills to deal with its weakness.
CCP should start to introduce the prober Weapon profiles and they should get rid of all the placeholder weapons than we may see some differences because then the gal AR has its own niche -> short Range + high dps. Now ist all kinda screwed ;( |

i said "feels like"... i didn't say it was fact.
The charged shot certainly doesn't feel like it's insta hit. Tried that **** many times and it's either hit detection or there's travel time on that bullet.

If you gauge DPS into infinity than the HMG has more DPS than the AR.
If you gauge DPS by the average length of an actual firefight, and subtract the average amount of DPS that is evaded via strafing, and the amount that is evaded due to the spin-up time of the HMG the AR does more DPS total.
That is the difference between reality and paper. |

But instead we get reduced charge time, which only affects one variant of the scrambler rifle and (really) isn't all that useful.
The -25% to dispersion on ARs applies to all of them and is extremely useful. |

Yes its hit detection....I used imp scramb exclusively for a while and after the most recent update the hit detection has died on the charged rifle.
And as an AR user for month before specing into the scrambler after the last respec...............the scrambler has the exact same recoil/dispersion as the AR does. Its more noticeable on the scrambler because of the better sights on the scrambler...its harder to tell on the AR with iron sights that your sights are bouncing all over the place. Actually the scrambler is better because after you spec fully into the AR then both scrambler and the AR are pretty much identical........but the scrambler doesnt need to spec an additional 1.5mill ish SP like the AR does (into sharpshooter skill). |

What kick - kick is minimal.
I use the exile with no skills into AR and just ADS on target and hold down the trigger.
The gun barely moves and never veers (horizontally) off the target. |

It's the exact same way it is right now. Do the glitch where your weapon is invisible and use the sight..no muzzle flash = better accuracy = the gun is actually usable
also it definitely has more recoil than my duvolle, I have proto SR and AR, the full auto SR kicks much harder than the AR right out the gate.
After 20,000+ kills I think I'd notice the recoils on different guns, so I know for a 100% fact I am right. |

Are we? I maxed AR and SCR operation and switch between tac/standard ARs and SCR. Whenever I try and use the assault scr in one of the urban maps I always ask myself why the **** I just did that. Yellow reflex sight + yellow muzzle flash and that ridiculous kick make me hate it so badly.

ASCR, after a full clip unload, while it has horizontal kick that starts after 5 bullets, it's minor, and it has zero vertical kick. Go test it yourself. |

The HMG muzzle flash is five times worse since Uprising, and it covers the entire damn screen.

If you deliberately place yourself outside of the realm of competition than your credibility does not get the benefit of anyone's doubt. No one is going to take your word for anything and you do not automatically get a free pass to make valid arguments with people who are more experienced than you in pretty much everything.
If you intend to sit here and argue with Kobrah, you're just going to continue looking like some newbie who wants to get his 2 cents in regardless of the fact you don't know anything. And no one is going to take you seriously.
So instead of arguing with him all day so you can chest thump, why don't you either
A. Get into actual, competitive PC and prove you have credibility.
or
B. Listen to people who ARE better than you and actually learn something. |

The ASCR's are NOT OP due to the fact that they are horrendous at eating through armor. Yes, I can wipe out a Cal Logi's shields in 4-7 rounds, but if I go against a Gallente Armor tanker, even with the Carthum, it's going to be a bad time.
There has been many times where I have wiped out a players shields just to hit the brick wall for the SCR's that is the player's armor. It sucks to take few rounds to wipe out shields yet another 40 (with consistent hitmarkers) to actually get through the armor and off the player.
In short, take that "ASCR's/SCR's are OP" trash somewhere else. |

Wow thats really sad I hoped for a greater difference between the weapons. Si it makes a noticeable diference wich weapon you choose. I really hope CCP changes their mind in this regard. |

Lets say the Scrambler rifle is in it's correct range right now? The Gallente AR will be -10/15 meters from it. The Caldari AR will be +10/15 meters from it.
So in the end, the difference between the Gallente and the Caldari AR is 30 meters. That's the difference between the standard AR and the Breach AR. So yeah, it will be noticeable. |

I wouldn't say the assault rifle is OP. The problem is that it is just the best gun in the game in almost every situation. For instance in the dev blog today they made a point of saying that every gun had a situation for which it is strong and others in which it is weak. i wish they had said "except the AR" because that's the truth. Be honest here - why else would EVERYONE be using it. It is great in both close quarters combat and long and mid range assault. I'm a shotgunner, but whenever I need to use my free assault suit, I feel jealous because the semi-auto fire of the AR is better than anything i could ever try. Think on it. The way strafing is right now, Assault Rifle players have an advantage because they can continuously fire for how long? With a shotgun, if you miss you're a sitting duck until you can fire again and all the while you're taking damage from an automatic weapon.
The AR isn't underpowered - but it i head and shoulders above other gun types. Those other guns need a buff. Ar doesn't need a nerf |

You have to constantly pull the trigger so ADS wont be as easy plus you have the whole overheat mechanic. |

Are we 100% certain SCR is hitscan? I use the SCR almost exclusively and it certainly feels like its projectile compared to the hit scan of the ARs. Use the TAR and then use the SCR, SCR definitely feels like you have to lead and wait a moment for your hit to register. Why would hit detection be worse on the SCR? |
