Hay CCP, first just wanted to let you know that your doing a great job! The game is showing improvement compared to when it was first released. I feel the need to post this because people keep complaining about stuff, there always saying: "nerf this, re-balance that, fix it CCP or else". I have over 12.5sp and to tell you the truth I don't have a problem with the Flay lock pistol or armor tanking or av grenades, (and yes I've use and died to all of these and any thing else you could think of)and the reason I don't have a problem with these things is because I am a good member of the community, one who doesn't believe that death is an unacceptable part of the game. Unfortunately the community is not made up of us good players who enjoy game as a whole. Instead it is made up of a bunch of spoiled blueberries who feel as if the game should tailer to them first and everyone else third, and super hardcore raisins how feel that they know what's best for the game because they have been playing the longest and that anyone that doesn't agree with them is a noob.
A good gaming community is made up happy friendly players who welcome and help new players to find their way, players that have faith in their devs to move the game forward. And that true about a part of dust's community, however that portion of the community is not the most vocal, and tend to be out yelled by the raving loonies in the majority.
I don't know, I guess what I'm saying is just ignore the community for a bit of at least close the feedback and requests part of the forum for a while, in the hopes that they learn to stop whining so much. It's not like this section of the forums isn't too useful at the moment anyway, take the next 3 comments for example, chances are that 2 of them are negative and at least 1 of those comments came from someone who did not read the whole post (if you did read the whole post refer to me as Mr. 816 in your reply). And that's only a small sample of the behavior that can be expected here on the forums.
Now I'm not saying that dust is perfect, but what game is? It's like I said before, I have faith in the game and I have faith in you CCP, whether you use complex math equations or you just flip a coins. I feel that you will make the right choices with or without the approval of the community (myself included).

I agree that there is a lot of negativity and some of it is from crybabies who come crying on the forums every time they fall and scrape their knees, but there is a lot of legitimate, constructive criticism and good ideas for improvements/future content as well. Suggesting that CCP close the feedback/request board and ignore community feedback on the whole is just asinine. Like it or not the community is part of the game too. Instead of advocating our disenfranchisement why not accept that you are a part of the community and join the discussion. There's a lot more negativity and non-constructive criticism on the General Discussion board anyway, so that's the board you should be suggesting they close if you should be suggesting such a thing at all (you shouldn't). Why don't you look at some of DusterBuster's presentations for examples of quality feedback? He put a lot of work into them and deserves a bit more respect for doing so than to suggest that he be silenced just because some people can't comport themselves like civil adults. Thanks for reading my some what of a rant post, and yes I am awear that there are good people out there in the community. But really those people are in the minority, I mean the topic of the week is "how CCP abandoned us" because they didn't do an update on the feedback from last week. And really what's the worst that could happen to the game if CCP says "ok we won't be listening for a while"? Will the spoiled berries quit the game? Well the rotten grapes tell the devs that their dumb for not listening to them?
Look while it is true that there are good players out in the community like Cross and the black jackal, the rest of the community is a bunch butt hurt babies that think if they QQ long enough they'll have their way. |

Carefull with those generalizations man, even some of the whining posts have some legit
complaints. How it is presented could be better but still...
Just take a breath and realize there are alot of keyboard tough guys on the internet.
Then laugh at them as you block/hide their posts.

Yea the community can be a bit impatient, but then again that's to be expected when they feel utterly ignored. At least 40% of the community would settle down and wait if CCP would actually respond to show that they're listening. A lot of players don't even care if CCP decides to fix an issue or not but that CCP takes the time to give them a "We'll get on that soon(TM)" or "NO".
The feedback section is meant to allow players to, in a way, chat with the devs about the game. What's the point of talking to someone if they are just going to sit there doing/saying nothing?
I've seen some vids as to were DUST is headed and if it truly is going in that direction then I don't mind waiting and ignoring the current issues as I feel the end game would be worth it. The problem is CCP hasn't confirmed what there plans are in the long run or if there plans have changed. It's not fun to get your hopes up for nothing ya know.

Thank you for talking the time to read the post. But your a good exsample of why CCP needs to stop treating us like kings. Your having fun shouldn't be based on wether or not the things you ask for get added to the game, it should be based on what's actually in the game. And if CCP was ignoing us then we would probably have a much nicer game on our hands (imbalanced as hell but still playable ) and so what if we "ignored" I have no ideas how to develop an FPS but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying planetside or battlefield or even minecraft, and those games seem to be doing fine with out me trying to tell them how to make me have more fun. |

Feedback is needed to help keep things running but it needs to be balanced, all the crying on the BF3 forums ruined that game for me, whenever I play it i end up raging in a few minutes, and I play games to have fun. I do have the bad rounds on dust from time to time that cost a shed load of ISK but then I calm down, and go make it back again, it helps that the leaders of Intrepidus make time to listen to their mercs and help train us as this game is a grind and hard to understand sometimes.
OP you made a good point but the option for feedback is here because the DEV team wanted it. I have made and commented on a few threads, OFC they are my opinions but I have a right to be heard same as you or anyone else, my concern is that the DEV team are listening to the wrong people (who in all likely hood came from BF3 and COD and think the game should be the same as those), they just dont get the game is different and when CCP get there they will have one hell of an endgame. |

Did you even read the OP? Yes feedback is needed but does it really need its own section one the forums, all the time? Will CCP drive the game off a cliff if they don't have us to tell them all the things that are wrong with the game? Are they so dafted that they can't find and kill a few bugs on their own? |
