The suit in its current state is not viable for serious matches due to its laughable survivalbility. I tried multiple times to make the suit work but so far even with my long experience in Dust, all I could do was average a 4.0 k/dr with 14 kills on Commando vs my 10+ k/dr with 20+ kills on a Assault or Basic Heavy Frame. I have yet to see a challenging Commando user since its release, all of them got killed right away upon being seen (I'm sure the numbers CCP is seeing must be sad to look at).
Old suit stats:
- Shield - 250 HP
- Armor - 250 HP
- Shield Recharge Rate - 10.0 HP/s
Proposed suit stats:
- Shield - 320 HP
- Armor - 320 HP
- Shield Recharge Rate - 17.0 HP/s
Here's why the changes would be ok:
- Swarm Launcher spam? Nope, there's always someone using AV weapons in public matches at the beginning in other suits.
- Shotgun Spam? Hardly, Commando is slow and even with the high damage I have yet to see a full squad using shotguns in CQC.
- Commando has a big hitbox.
- My Assault GK.0 has 243 Shields, 561 Armor, a Complex Damage mod, all proto weapons, Allotek Nanohive (R), M1 grenade, and 4.58 Movement Speed.

1+ the suits useless and give it 1 H/l slot at basic 2 H/l slot at advanced 3 H/l at proto. |

Something does need to be done about the Commando that is for sure, with how limited their slots are they just can not keep up with the other suits, I hardly ever see them, I think I saw one once went wow before he died and I ran for cover. |

The amarr heavy needs roughly 1.1 m/s more sprint speed, and a grenade slot.
The shield recharge rate is horrendous however it does not need to be changed if CCP wanted it to have the lowest shield recharge rates purposely and not just for balance.
If CCP wanted the commando to be different by not having grenades then many other states need to be buffed.
For example: (The armor and shields need a slight buff) or (more module slots are needed)
The sprint speed still needs a large buff.
The CPU/PG capacity needs a slight buff.
The shield recharge speed needs a buff |

You also should not forget that it-¦s an Amarr suit so it gets less slots by default and higher hp. If CCP would ever be so good to fix this and make Amarr armor tankers we-¦ll see again.
But it still needs more eHP. |

i agree the only thing i could think about using it for was, ( wyka swarm launcher 2x mod spam with ishukon flux nano) ..and even then it wouldn't really be worth it as low hp as it is it is incredibly vulnerable to being one shotted by just about every sniper. and even popping out of a lav with wykas may not be viable as i have found with hp like that ina charybdis thanks to your new lav hitbox ccp anything targeting the lav does massive ammounts of damage to the suit that suit would die in seconds in just about every scenario when attempted to be used for anything other than long range swarm barrage. +1 commando needs a solid buff :D good numbers alldin i likes |

Have to agree with this, plus a change to the bonus. If the suit sacrifices module slots, don't give them a bonus for module slots. And don't use the argument, "They're making the most out of what they got." That's ridiculous and counter-intuitive. |

I think the bonus is actually decent. It seems to affect more than just Shield / Armor extenders and applies to any shield or armor modules.
When I equiped an armor repairer it gave a boost to the amount /second. Maybe it could use a higher percentage to compensate for the lack of overall module slots? |

STD Commando: 0 slots, wasted skill ADV Commando: 1 high, 1 low. Any suit with at least 2 high or 2 low can outdo whatever the Commando can do with 1 mod and 10% more efficiency. That would be 200% (or 187% if stacking penalty applies) verse 110% PRO Commando: 2 high, 1 low. Again, even a suit with 3 highs can outdo whatever a Commando can do with 2 highs each with 10% more efficiency. That would be 300% (or 244% if stacking penalty applies) verse 220% (or 196% if stacking penalty applies)
Yes I get that the Commando would save on CPU/PG for less modules, except all the other suits get more CPU/PG to account for more modules.
I stand by my point that the bonus is extremely counter-intuitive and they should instead give it a bonus that reinforces the strengths of the suit, not the weaknesses.
Pros of the Commando Suit: -Two light weapons -More speed (compared to the other Heavy suits) -An equipment slot -More melee damage (bet you didn't know that!)
So swap the bonus out with something that strengthens one of these, like extra ammo capacity or larger clip sizes for light weapons, fitting bonuses for light weapons, speed increase, stamina increase, or even something to do with the equipment or melee damage since it'd be less useless than a 10% increase to the limited modules slots.
EDIT: What makes it even worse is that this module bonus is the Amarr racial bonus for Commando, and Amarr is already notorious for having less modules than other races on suits. Again, it just doesn't make sense. |

I think it should get 2H/2L at the proto level and a slight increase in speed/stamina. While the suit is technically considered a "heavy" frame, it hardly operates like one. I'd be wary about buffing the base HP. I'd honestly rather see them have more modules to fit to give them the option to fit more HP. |

My commando suit uses a GEK, Shotgun and nanite injector/Shotgun, Plasma Cannon, Injector. I do meh compared to the AK.0 but I still think it needs a bit of buffs in certain areas like speed, give it a racial where it halves the stamina redux from armor mods problem solved.

i agree with the hp buff and if not a hp buff it should have H/L slots comparable with any logi the bonus is also BS who cares about reload speed the shield recharge should also be comparable with the heavy |

I agree on theneed of buffs but i think you took it too far:

what i proposed is a change in the BONUSES they earn, giving them the more ''Passive bonus suit'' essence XD
Giving a bonus on base HP per level, starting at 500 all theway up to 625 JUST with the Commando bonus. At level 5 Passive Armor and shield it would take it all the way up to 750,which is DECENT (Mid frame total HP), along with a speed boost.
Giving it 640 HP OFF THE BAT, even at Basic level, with 2 Light weapons is just taking it a little too far i think. People will whine of 15K Basic Commandos running Geks and Mass Drivers...
I do agree Commandos need some love.
