Personally, proto-swarm launchers make me laugh. Whenever i get hit by heavy proto swarms i just watch where they come from and use my dropships speed to fly literally right over the swarmer but be going so fast that all of his swarms are completely useless, and i make sure to let him know i know exactly where he is :P & people that SP sink that much just for swarms is pretty hilarious alone. |

It is nice when player skill becomes a prominent component in balance. Proto Swarm vs Dropship is a great example of this. Proto Swarm vs Bad Pilot = Dead Dropship Proto Swarm vs Good Pilot = Wasted missiles I solute you and the skilled pilots like you. I just wish the bad pilots could keep their drop ships from running into buildings before I get the kill. Thank you very much :P And i completely agree, the one thing that determines whether you will survive in a dropship (apart from random RDV's) is your skill, and my python can out-run a 2nd swarm shot any time of day, because once the first swarms hit me i have about 5-7 seconds to put my fuel injector on and speed away. But i have seen some insanely funny DS crashes as I'm shooting them down, such as the pilot trying to land ontop of a building but as he's getting out his dropship topples over the side and takes him with it, as well as while a DS is trying to run away from my proto-missle launchers he runs right into a large building. |

Don't forget that luck is a factor too, while swarms are rarely an issue there's always that time when 1 hits you just before a forge gun or vice versa and your cackling laughter turns to a moan of dismay as your dropship plummets, or those rare cases when the knock throws you into terrain. Well yes, when there's an AV team up on me and i get hit by 2-3 seperate AV's all at once, I can't help but say oh well, there was nothing i could really do even if i did have a shield tanked ds, I have had that happen about only twice though, where the reason i lost wasn't because of 1 OP assault forge gun making unbelievable shots at me or railgun snipers picking me off, but instead because i had an entire team of different AV's focused on me alone. |
