I was using some sniper rifles, and notice that there is no bullet drop. When you fire, the projectile stays on a straight line until infinity. When you fire the sniper rifles in this game they should be able to pick someone off at 300-400m simply by putting a dot on someone. I suppose the same could be said about Forge Guns. |

Because it's a railgun the bullet shoots straight like tthat I don't know the scientific reason why rail weapons do that though |

I had a similar problem when I used to always lead my targets to account for bullet travel time. Then I learned about the railgunmagic and its all good now. |

Not really worth the trouble of implementing it.

The experimental sniper rifle that has been removed from the market featured bullet drop which was rather interesting. |

This equasion is wrong as the speed of the bullet greatly reduces the moment the bullet exits the barrel |

From the sniper rifle description:
"The sniper rifle effectively weaponizes velocity, putting an inert round downrange in excess of 2,500 m/s."
Looks to me like it is referring to flight speed not the velocity at which the bullet travels within the barrel. |

Do you have any clue why other games added bullet drop? BECAUSE SNIPERS ARE AMAZINGLY POWERFUL OTHERWISE!
Amazing range, amazing damage, very safe, stay at long range in the red line and enjoy collecting free WP >_>
Snipers should have bullet drop and travel time, to make it actually take skill, otherwise it's just point and shoot - collect free points. |

I understand why they have no drop (railgun) but I find it hard to adjust from KZ, COD, BF, Defiance, etc. in which you must lead your shot, to an extent, when attacking a moving target. I constantly find myself thinking "if only there was normal ballistics, that would've been a kill." |

Its funny how I typo-d my message but everyone got the point. A buddy of mine uses Forge Guns and he can take out drop ships from a kilometer away simply by pointing and shooting. he gets around 10 a game(all of them the enemy calls in)
Sitting on the redline and picking people off with no skill involved is to cheap of a way to get WP. Granted those people usually don't post high numbers (unless they are standing on TOP of the MCC and get 40-50 kills) and they don't contribute to the win. But they need to do something that puts skill into it. It would be nice to see an FPS with snipers that people could actually brag about being good in. It would make any sniper in the game an elite world class player. |

Right. Because lining up a tiny dot with another MOVING tiny dot, hundreds of yards away, and pulling the trigger during that 1/100 of a second when they overlap takes no skill. What a bunch of rocket scientists we have here. |

It doesn't, because I do it, and anyone else can. All you have to do is put the dot infront of where the target is moving. As soon as the enemy crosses over BAM, free kill from 400m out

Anticipating a target's movement is skill. If that person didn't want to get sniped, they should've zig-zagged. Running in a straight line, out in the open, not using cover, spraying AR rounds all over the place like Rambo takes no skill. Killing someone 60- meters away with three bullets using a weapon that sprays several of them out per second and has a 40+ round magazine, takes significantly less skill than the so-called "free" kills you say snipers get. |

Nope. I use both, and sniping is by far easier. I know how to avoid snipers like any other decent FPS player. But when that sniper is sitting on the redline over 400m away it takes no skill to tell which way a guy is running.
If a guy is running left, you aim left. What skill is that?? If sniping is hard for you, or you think it takes skill right now in its current form I gather you are either 10 years old, or blind in one eye. |

^ Not sure about a free kill. You'll have to line up another one. I get into interesting engagements without bullet drop, sniper bullets whiz by me, line up the little dot and fire, hopefully get the second shot and down. If they are assault rifle punks then damn I'm good, sniping them as they try to point and hold button to accurately shoot me down. |
