While Dust has some core mechanics and balance issues... its overall a decent game. The problems lie in the fact that development on this game has been so painfully slow, and issues are not fixed for 2-3 MONTHS when they should have been patched in 2-3 WEEKS.
Also, the class system and mechanics of this game are developed for maps with more cover, and waaaaaaay more players. Both of which are no longer possible on the PS3 for whatever reasons (I know mag did it but clearly dust cannot).
This game needs more players in a match... badly. We need a way to dilute low SP players and more intricate maps with indoor/outdoor areas and more diversity in game modes.
imho, this game's biggest failing is that it wasn't released on the PC. It could have been so much more if it had been on the correct platform. As it stands, its just a dying game on a dying platform. |

They can't even get racial heavy/scout suits and racial rifles out. I can't imagine the PvE will be good enough to save this game. |

I'm sure they meant ten years after release ;) lol, good luck with this game being viable 10 months after release Is it even viable now? Player counts are trending down, there doesn't seem to be any meaningful content due for the next couple of months, and the fixes are coming slow and with their own problems. How few players does Dust need to be called a flop? Well since it was 5000 last time we could see, at the rate it dropped (4000 in 2 weeks from 9000), that'd put it somewhere around 1500-3000 right now. When people stop buying Aurum and logging in and the numbers drop below 1000, maybe they'll take notice as to how all of their hardcore playerbase left and it's just clueless noobs that dont have the patience to understand this stupid game.
The EvE API log in tracker has dust at a pretty steady 4600-4800 actually... on weekends at least.
However... whats more interesting is looking at the newborn player chart. It says over 9000 people per week are making new dust accounts, and yet the player numbers never increase.
I find that very interesting myself...

Now THAT would be really interesting! |

I'm obviously trolling this thread because I'm sick of people writing novel-sized forum posts about why they hate this game, yet continue to play it. This topic is a dead horse that has been beaten beyond recognition and I have absolutely no desire to "argue the topic". I would much prefer that people just STFU or HTFU. Don't like the game and don't think it will ever succeed? STOP PLAYING.
We have stopped playing, the in game client but WE WILL NEVER STOP PLAYING THE REAL GAME. Didnt anyone tell you, you dont play dust on a PS3 you play it like EVE, ON THE FORUMS.
