10 months from now, with a playerbase under 1500 regulars, CCP will decide to reboot Dust.
Should have happened a week after they went into release, but that is how CCP works. |

I can't imagine PvE getting made any time soon. CCP has had to go into all hands on deck mode to fix what they broke with Uprising.
Before Fanfest, there was a twitch broadcast where one of the devs made mention of us seeing the roadmap. I can tell you that whatever that document looked like then it got scrapped as soon as the first reviews started to come out. As reality set in about how far away from decent FPS they were, the entire plan has been reworked into spending the next six months fixing what took them a year of beta to build and break.
PvE will not save this game because it is at least a year away, along with so many of the other features promised way back in the hey day of CCP talking out of their asses to hype up this game. |

Is it even viable now? Player counts are trending down, there doesn't seem to be any meaningful content due for the next couple of months, and the fixes are coming slow and with their own problems.
How few players does Dust need to be called a flop? |

Right now people are hanging on by a thread with hope that 1.4 will actually be something meaningful. 1.3 is going to be a balancing pass and 1.4 will be new content.
1.4 will be the last shot CCP has at keeping core FPS players interested or they will just sit and wait for the PS4 launch FPS titles.
Uprising Launch - 8-9k people One Month Later - 5-6k people Currently - 4k people
CCP either understands that they need to burn the midnight oil to get a good release out for 1.4 or the only people that are going to playing this game are EVE folks and the poor sap that thought they were getting a good deal with a free FPS game.
Here is the thing for me:
If CCP says that big things are coming for 1.4, that doesn't mean squat to me. They said Uprising was going to be epic. They also said Dust was going to be a AAA FPS.
Second, I don't know if CCP even understands how little faith is left in the playerbase for them pulling this from the ashes of what could have been. I have seen zero posts looking for feedback on how to balance the new stuff they are thinking off, even less dev interaction with people who are actively playing the game at any sort of level, let alone those in the end game stage of PC.
What we do see is indication from the same bunch of yes man is given access to some information and is involved in balance discussion even though most of them are not fit to even be on the field in a PC battle. I mean IWS is functionally 'tarded, but yet that muppet has some voice in what the rest of us get to play?
Bring on the AA HAV's, because that is going to fix everything. |

Well since it was 5000 last time we could see, at the rate it dropped (4000 in 2 weeks from 9000), that'd put it somewhere around 1500-3000 right now. When people stop buying Aurum and logging in and the numbers drop below 1000, maybe they'll take notice as to how all of their hardcore playerbase left and it's just clueless noobs that dont have the patience to understand this stupid game.
Eve offline has the weekly average at around 4500 peak.
I know a lot of people who spent a lot of money on this game that have either stopped spending or walked away completely.
I'm in the no more money until CCP shows they deserve it camp, but if the next two patches are what I expect them to be, I will be gone once GTA 5 hits, which will hold me over till PS4 and good FPS games are on the market.
And then next year some time I can sell my characters to some Eve fan boy who doesn't want to suck for a year to compete in a dead FPS that only has benefits to a small percentage of Eve corps.
Thankfully, CCP has shown me how willing those 'tards are to part with money for essentially nothing and I will be able to recoup my investment in this beta handsomely. |

In a similar way as CCP made EVE Online growth and prosper for over a decade the plan is the same for DUST 514 and in a similar way as with EVE, expand platforms in the future beyond the initial PS3 version. The EP is responsible for reconciling business and creative needs to create an inspirational product with successful business model. This position will lead overall development and will work closely with publishing and operations activities for DUST 514. The EP is responsible for the overall success of the title. The Executive Producer will need to build and lead strong teams of senior people from across the project in order to develop, communicate and execute the creative vision and business plans for DUST 514. As the key business leader for the project, the Executive Producer maintains a strategic focus on the overall goals of the project and a long term perspective in respect to creativity, quality, budget and timelines. LMFAO!
They got rid of the other thread talking about it pretty quickly.
