I mean the core aspect of how it works.
You are a clone, if the clone you are controlling dies, you don't get back the stuff it was wearing. You pay for all items with in game currency, that is earned by playing the game.
That does not make the game pay to win. |

I think it is stuff like contact grenades and how every time before you get into a game it says something about getting your stuff faster with aurum. I know the game is not pay 2 win but look at it from someones perspective who has never played the game before, ccp does try to shove the stuff into your face. |

Yes, but we all started out like that and I know the SP gap is getting larger but have alts with small amounts of so and still enjoy playing them. |

those aurum items arent a win button, they dont make you invincible, just harder to kill or easier to get kills with

Journalists don't have the time to really dig into a game, especially one that they can't compare 1to1 with another title.
But don't worry, once Dust reaches a certain quality, word will spread among gamers and then journalists will pick up on that, reporting favourably. That's how they work. |

I wouldn't trust gaming "journalists" to begin with. They sell out to whoever gives them the most merch and are as biased as a Florida jury. Makes me miss G-4, everything went downhill when they merged with TechTV. |

The point here is the marketing of supremacy goods. That is why the game can be construed as p2w. As long as their are items that are only available with real money that are better than in game currency items in any way, they are supremacy goods, and are a form of p2w.
It could be called mild p2w, it could more accurately be called marketing supremacy goods, but either way there is an advantage to be had if you pay money, therefore it is in some form p2w. |

Because the game is not easy to understand. Very little is explained to you when you are thrown in the deep end.
There are also several items that are only available for cash and perform better than the non-cash alternatives. That is the definition of pay to win, no?
To be fair to CCP, those items are generally not 'insta-win button' items, but they can undoubtedly tip the scales in a key battle one way or the other. |

Actually, I give grenades and drop links as a direct example because they don't have direct ISK equivalents. The Proto Aurum Uplinks have a faster spawn time (which makes a BIG difference) and the Cavity ADV Aurum nades are the same stats as the Thukker Proto but with less CPU/PG requirement. Did you really not know this already? |

It took me playing beta for a month before I could reliably track the goings on in the market. Nevermind prioritise my sp spending. It's understandable that reviewers can't grasp the character of the game or its intentions given the time they have to review. However it's also unproffessional to express an opinion on various aspects of the game when readers may assume your opinion is informed. |

That makes a game clown proof because no matter what anyone says you have to be hardcore and compete. You cant lolplay dust. To many penalties. You will either learn to aim and dodge or you will go back to runescape.
if dust had better graphics a lot of gripes would go away.......but its a FREE game! |
