I've been thinking this for awhile and discussed it for a bit with various people, but why not make the roles (scout, assault, logi, sentinel, commando) independent of frame size. So basically each frame size would get all the roles, of which there are 5 currently. The role bonuses could remain the same throughout (or tweaked slightly were it makes sense) and all you would need to do for the suits is give them the corresponding color scheme. You'd instantly open up a ton of more options for the players. Here's what I mean
Light Scout Same as is
Light Assault Bonus: +5% to dropsuit shield recharge rate per level Suit: Identical to basic light
Light Logi Bonus: +1 armor repair repair rate per level Suit: Less speed, less eHP, loses the sidearm, 2 equipments at standard and advanced, 3 equipment at prototype (essentially Scout Type-II from Chromosome)
Light Sentinel Bonus: 5% reduction to weapon feedback damage per level Suit: Identical to basic light
Light Commando Bonus: +5% light and sidearm reload speed per level Suit: More speed, less eHP, less modules, 2 light weapons, no grenade (Essentially the Black Eagle suit)
Medium Scout Bonus: 5% reduction to scan profile per level Suit: Identical to basic medium
Medium Assault Same as is
Medium Logi Same as is
Medium Sentinel Bonus: 5% reduction to weapon feedback damage per level Suit: Identical to basic medium
Medium Commando Suit: More speed, less eHP, less modules, 2 light weapons, no grenade
Heavy Scout Bonus: 5% reduction to scan profile per level Suit: Identical to basic heavy
Heavy Assault Bonus: +5% to dropsuit shield recharge rate per level Suit: Identical to basic heavy
Heavy Logi Bonus: +1 armor repair repair rate per level Suit: Less speed (very slow consider heavy is already slow), less eHP, loses the sidearm, 1 equipments at standard and advanced, maybe 2 equipment at prototype. Keeps heavy weapon slot.
Heavy Sentinel Same as is
Heavy Commando Same as is
Ok, now the only reason I state "Identical to basic frames" is because currently there's nothing to base it off of as the suits currently don't change in these roles aside from bonuses. Also I know what you're thinking, "Heavy scout? What? Why?" Well hold on, imagine if they actually increased everyone's scan radius like they should, having less of a profile signature may help a heavy too, especially if trying to move with a squad undetected.
Sure some of these may seem a bit silly, but why not open up the options? I mean, I could see myself going into Amarr Medium Sentinel if that means I could reload my laser rifle faster and take less damage from it when it overheats (feedback damage on those things is massive).
Just some thoughts, feel free to love or hate it. |

Yes some of these suits may sound a bit niche, but it would also add a lot of much needed suits like the light logi which would essentially be the return on the Scout Type II from chromosome. |

No.
Why have the roles then if you could just go logi heavy, and the poor sobs who thought that a old fashioned med logi get brushed aside as the heavies can then just do everything by themselves?
This symbiosis of the logi and the heavy would mean jack squat then! No, because read my post and you'll realize that the heavy logi would be ridiculously slow and only get 1 or 2 equipment spots. It'd have a purpose, but it wouldn't take away from the medium logi. |

Apparently you haven't been paying attention around here, many people consider the heavies useless currently because they are too slow and can't strafe. Imagine that, but slower. It's a fair trade off IMO. |
