I recently played a match in witch I had snuck up on a tank that was on top of a tower (don't ask how idid it.....I'm still not sure if the guy in the tank even noticed me almost hitting him with my dropship) and I placed some remote explosives around it and detonated them....but instead of the tank blowing up....it just flew right off the sideways of the tower and exploded when it hit the ground....then for some reason the idea popped into my head "I should have stuck the mines to the tank" but the. I thought "wait.....I can't do that.....the explosives aren't "sticky" "
So to the point, is it possible to make the remote explosives "sticky"?
Perhaps a "sticky" variant in wich they are sticky (duh), but with more punch and a smaller blast radius and then with of course the regular variant, large blast radius, lower punch.
Thoughts anyone? |

I been thinking about this myself. I was thinking good damage so if you get close enough to a tank and get it on it will actually hurt it, but low blast radius so people won't like stick them on low ceilings or something. Just something more for AV I think? |

I support this!
Although I agree with the statement that the sticky variants should have a tighter blast radius.
I remember when I first encountered Remote Explosives users just covered the Objective(s) with them. Yes they got a few easy kills of me, but once I became more alert I scanned for them before hacking. Allowing a Sticky variant would be more challenging and allow creativity is where it's placed.
Not to mention the possible counter-installation or AV aspect. |

Well that wouldn't work because the geometry of the objects in the game are bigger than the actual objects Its near impossible to lob a grenade in an urban area because it gets caught on EVERYTHING
Until they fix that, there can't be stick explosives |

If you can stick them on people it will be just like TimeSplitters. If you can stick them on vehicles it would be like BF, with suicide jeeps. But I suppose eaither way it would be helpful. +1 |

It'd be a neat mechanic but with how badly uplinks seem to glitch into EVERYTHING I can't imagine this would end in anything other than tears.
On a sidenote earlier in the week I made an observation that I'm more surprised when I find an uplink that ISN'T glitched into the map somehow than when I find one that is. |

If that is true then don't play with/against me as my uplinks would give you a heart attack |

I'd actually say that all deployable equipment should be sticky. I'd like to stick nanohives and remote explosives to walls, maybe even vehicles and people.
This is a sandbox game, so open up the sandbox. Let us figure out how useful an uplink sticked to the back of a scout is. Or remote explosives mounted on a heavy. |

Got a point but I fear it may be too much ... CCP PLEASE SAY THIS ISN'T TOO MUCH!
If a supply mod is not going to happen then sticking one to a vehicle would be the next best thing. Imagine a dropship with a nanohive stuck to the bottom of it! Drop low to a nest of friendly snipers so they can re-up then move on and pickup a teammate that is at low health. If the nanohive is a compact then they could be getting a few heals in before jumping back into the fight. Plus, since your using equipment, you would actually get WP for helping out with your vehicle (HINT MUTHA ******* HINT). |

It wasn't very useful because the only deployable equipment was REs, but it was definitely fun to sneak up on an enemy, stick some C4 to his back and walk away while not looking at the explosion.
What I'm trying to say is that the rest of the industry has been there 10 years ago, on hardware that was actually several years older than the PS3. |

timing would be critical, yell back at squad mate, "Detonate now!" Boom! lol I like your post on the jacked lav. I wish I can put an re on a downed player, that would be EPIC lol. Here's how to do it: kill a stragler, place re, then hope he calls for help lol. I once placed an re on an uplink to destroy it, enmy spawns in. Bye Bye, he went flying |
