At the end of the day, the spreadsheet FPS says otherwise.
The numbers and advantages that come from having more time invested is the end-all of this game.
That's the case in EVERY game. Since the more you play a game, the more you know the limits/advantages of your weapons, the maps, the trick spots and the FOCUS points of your enemy. Thus.. Point.. Invalid.
Just cause you played against a bunch of people who either sucked, went easy on you, or whatever.. isn't going to suddenly change that fact.
And if you ask me... it sounds more like your trying to brag to me about how your so awsome at this game...it must be everyone else that sucks right? Go f' yourself with that elitest BS.
Sir Eos wrote: And... nobody said it had to be a solo-rambo-twitch game.
actually, you did. with your comment that "I have a bunch of players in a squad who ALL play more than you.... so we win. "
But you know what...I gaurantee most of you vets play this game exactly in that fashion anyway.... You just so happen to think that it's teamwork only because someone happens to be in the area next to you.
Well guess what...sometimes when I play CoD...there are teammates around me on certain occasions.
Sir Eos wrote: Not sure if you've realized this yet, but in THIS game, unless all you ever play is ambush, the amount of kills you take is irrelevant compared to getting objectives, thus it doesn't matter if you're mister PERFECTPLAYERROFLSTOMPTHEWORLD you can only be in 1 place at any one time, and while you're pwning 1 position, the people are capping the others.
Sir Eos wrote: Tell me... when you come to a corner? Do you yell "Thunder" and wait for the response of "Flash" To make sure it's a friendly?
Of course not.. but I don't go throw a grenade around every corner, nor do I go spraying around each corner either.
Sir Eos wrote: It is different in that it sucks to play it. But as far as teamwork goes.... there is nothing special happening, that sets this above all the other mindless rambo FPS's out there. You could just as easily, take what you call teamwork in Dust and do the same in any other shooter and get results from it.
VERY true.. except in most other games, NOT playing team work doesn't mean that you'll loose the battle, Not to mention you have 0 consequences for loosing a fight. Since you don't loose assets. It's a constant going up battle.. whereas here, you have to learn when to use a shiny kit, and when it's more worth to just use disposable cheap fits.
" The only difference is... You can actually still enjoy yourself in the other games when your team isn't online to help you. I can jump on CoD with a bunch of randoms... and still have fun. "
Here lies your problem.. You can ONLY have fun if you're on the winning side. When my teams not online, I go and play in my 0 isk fits and try different tactics and play with weapons and eq I don't normally use to learn how they work. But for you, a game is only fun if you win. Guess what, you can never ALWAYS win. Sooner you realize that... the more fun you'll have playing ANY game.
"Time invested etc" No ****.. The guys that play a certain map more, or a certain game more WILL ALWAYS win versus guys that just started.. It happens in every game out there. Reason is as I said at the begining of the game, called IN game experience. This game isn't a plain FPS. just because you're a god in COD/MW/HALO/etc.. don't mean **** in this game. Sooner you realize that, sooner you have fun. Gun game is only HALF the equation. Teamwork/gear/tactics are the other half.

I'm not getting involved in this "debate" but I just want to say that you're drastically underestimating the power of SP and Gear. If you think it's not a factor, go join one of the top corps and ask them to let you into PC without a maxed out Proto build. You let me know how that plays out for you.
How is any of that different from unlocking gear in those OTHER games? |
